Do you have a question about the Ryobi R36XLMWS6 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document is a user manual for the RYOBI R36XLMWS6 and R36XLMWS0 cordless lawnmowers, providing essential information on their operation, safety, maintenance, and technical specifications.
The RYOBI R36XLMWS6 and R36XLMWS0 are cordless lawnmowers designed for domestic lawn mowing. They are pedestrian-controlled, walk-behind lawnmowers that can be pushed manually or operated using a self-propel feature. The product is intended for outdoor use only and should not be used for any other purpose, pulled, or ridden on. It is capable of bagging grass clippings or side discharging them, and also features a mulching plug for mulching operation.
The lawnmowers operate on a 36 V d.c. rated voltage. They have a cutting width of 21 inches (53 cm) and an adjustable cutting height ranging from 25 mm to 101 mm. The no-load speed is 2500 revolutions per minute (max). The weight of the product without a battery is 30 kg, and the grass catcher capacity is 68 L. The blade bolt torque is specified between 39.2 and 44.1 Nm.
In terms of noise and vibration, the A-Weighted sound pressure level at the operator's position is 85.8 dB(A) with an uncertainty of K = 3.0 dB. The A-Weighted sound power level is 96.9 dB(A) with an uncertainty of K = 0.6 dB, leading to a guaranteed sound power level (LWA + KWA) of 98 dB(A). The vibration level (ah) is 0.8 m/s² with an uncertainty of K = 1.5 m/s².
The R36XLMWS6 model includes a BPL3660D or R36BTY4 battery pack, weighing 3.4 kg, and a R36CHR3P charger. The R36XLMWS0 model does not include a battery or charger. Compatible battery packs for both models include BPL3620D, BPL3626D2, BPL3640D2, BPL3650D2, BPL3660D, RY36B60A, BPL3690D, RY36B90A, BPL3612D, RY36B12A, RY36B20B, R36BTY2, RY36B40B, R36BTY4, RY36B50B, R36BTY5, R36BTY6, RY36B60B, R36BTY8, RY36B80B, RY36B12A, and R36BTY12. Replacement blades are part numbers 682534001 and 682533001.
The lawnmower features a self-propel speed slider and lever, a start button, and on/off triggers. It has one-touch folding handles for easy storage and transport, and a height adjustment lever for setting the cutting height. The product can be used with a grass catcher for bagging clippings, a side discharge chute for releasing clippings to the side, or a mulching plug for mulching.
To start the product, the user must insert the safety key, ensure the battery pack(s) are secured, squeeze and hold either side of the on/off triggers, and then press the start button. The self-propel feature is activated by pressing the self-propel lever, and its speed can be adjusted with the self-propel speed slider. The safety key is crucial for operation and can be turned around to swap primary battery packs in models with two battery slots.
The cutting height can be adjusted to 7 positions by pulling the height adjustment lever towards the wheel and raising or lowering the deck. It is recommended to start mowing at the highest position. The product should be operated across the face of slopes, not up and down, and on inclines no greater than 15°.
The lawnmower includes overload and overheat protection. If an overload is detected, the product automatically turns off, requiring the user to release the on/off trigger, press the start button, and squeeze the on/off trigger again. If the battery pack overheats, it will stop powering the product and needs to cool down before resuming operation or recharging.
Regular maintenance is crucial for safety and performance. Users should always visually inspect the blades, blade bolts, and cutter assembly for wear or damage before use. Worn or damaged parts should be replaced in sets to maintain balance. The grass catcher should be checked frequently for wear or deterioration. All nuts, bolts, and screws need to be checked at frequent intervals for proper tightness.
Before any adjustments, cleaning, or material removal, the product must be turned off, the isolator key removed, and the battery pack disconnected. All moving parts must come to a complete stop. When servicing blades, heavy-duty gloves should be worn due to their sharpness. A piece of wood can be inserted into the cutting deck to prevent the blade from spinning when loosening or tightening the blade nut. The blade nut should be hand-tightened until the blade is secured, then further tightened by 1/2 turn using a spanner (35-40 Nm torque).
After each use, plastic parts should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. The product should not be cleaned with water. Any damaged parts should be repaired or replaced by an authorised service centre. For storage, the product should be cooled down, foreign materials removed, and stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place inaccessible to children and away from corrosive agents. The product can be stored vertically after folding the handle and placing the folded grass catcher on top.
The manual also emphasizes general safety warnings, including wearing safety glasses, ear protection, non-slip heavy-duty footwear, and long trousers. It warns against operating the product while tired, ill, or under the influence of substances, and advises keeping children and pets at least 15m away from the operating area. The battery tool use and care section provides guidelines for safe handling, charging, and storage of battery packs, including warnings against exposure to moisture, heat, and improper use.
