How to start Ryobi Chainsaw if it won't start?
    • G
      glenncobbJul 30, 2025
If your Ryobi Chainsaw engine won't start, and you've ensured the ignition switch is in the start position, the issue could be a cracked or damaged spark plug. Replace it with a new one. If it still doesn't start, take it to a service dealer. Alternatively, the engine might be flooded. To fix this, turn off the ignition switch, remove the spark plug and boot, move the choke lever to the run position, and pull the starter cord 15 to 20 times to clear excess fuel. Clean and reinstall the spark plug. Set the ignition switch to run, push the primer bulb 10 times, and pull the starter three times with the choke lever at run. If it fails, move the choke lever to choke and repeat the normal starting procedure. If problems persist, try again with a new spark plug.

Why Ryobi Chainsaw engine does not reach full speed and/or emits excessive smoke?
    • U
      usmithAug 7, 2025
If your Ryobi Chainsaw engine does not reach full speed and/or emits excessive smoke, make sure you are using fresh fuel and the correct 2-stroke lubricant mix ratio. Another cause may be a dirty air filter. Clean the air filter. Also, the spark arrester screen might be dirty, so clean it. In some cases, the carburetor requires “H” (High jet) adjustment, so contact a service dealer.
