Overview

This document is the original instruction manual for the Ryobi RPW140-G High Pressure Cleaner. It provides essential information for assembling, operating, and maintaining the product, emphasizing safety and proper usage.

Function Description

The Ryobi RPW140-G is an electric high-pressure cleaner designed for outdoor, home, and domestic use. Its primary function is to clean various surfaces and objects by removing stubborn dirt using a high-pressure jet of clean water, with or without cleaning detergent. It is suitable for cleaning machines, vehicles, buildings, floors, tools, facades, terraces, and concrete walkways. The product requires two-handed operation for adequate control and is intended for use in dry and well-illuminated conditions. It is designed to be used with neutral cleaning agents supplied or recommended by the manufacturer.

Usage Features

The high-pressure cleaner incorporates several safety devices and features to ensure safe operation:

  • On/off Switch: Prevents unintentional operation.
  • Trigger Handle Lock: Locks the trigger to prevent unintentional opening of the high-pressure jet.
  • Overflow Valve with Pressure Switch: Prevents exceeding permissible working pressure. When the trigger gun lever is released, the pressure switch turns off the pump; pulling the lever turns it on again.
  • Overload Protection: A thermal sensor automatically shuts down the product if it overheats. To resume operation, the product must be disconnected from the power supply, allowed to cool for approximately 15 minutes, and then reconnected.
  • Water Supply Connection: The product must not be used on the drinking water supply without a backflow preventer. Users must observe local water utility regulations. A garden hose with a maximum length of 15 m and a minimum diameter of 18 mm (3/4 in.) is recommended for water supply.
  • Detergent Application: The product includes a detergent tank (1L capacity) for use with neutral cleaning agents.
  • Adjustable Spray Nozzle: The spray nozzle can be adjusted to change the spray pattern and intensity.
  • Hose and Cord Management: The device includes a hose handle and power cord holder for organized storage.
  • Mobility: Equipped with wheels for easy transport.

Safety Warnings and Precautions:

  • Always read all safety warnings and instructions before use.
  • Wear complete personal protective equipment, including boots, safety gloves, safety helmets with visors (high-impact visors with liquid splash protection), and hearing protection.
  • Keep children and visitors away from the work area; all visitors should wear safety glasses.
  • Do not direct the high-pressure jet at people, animals, live electrical equipment, or the product itself.
  • Avoid spraying flammable liquids to prevent explosions.
  • Do not use the product to clean electronic devices, clothes, or footwear.
  • Ensure high-pressure hoses, fittings, and couplings are secure and undamaged. Use only manufacturer-recommended parts.
  • Release air from the hose and pump before turning on the product by connecting the water supply, trigger handle, and pressing the trigger until a steady flow is achieved.
  • Hold the handle securely with both hands to counter reaction forces when pulling the trigger.
  • Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling. Maintain firm footing and balance.
  • Do not leave the product running unattended.
  • Do not use the product if the on/off switch does not function correctly.
  • Maintain a minimum distance of 30 cm when cleaning vehicles to avoid damaging tires/valves.
  • Water blasting asbestos-containing material is illegal.
  • Do not use acids, alkalines, solvents, flammable material, bleaches, or industrial-grade solutions.
  • Always operate the product on a level surface.
  • The product is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without adequate supervision.
  • During use, aerosols may be formed; inhalation can be hazardous. Shielded nozzles or a respiratory mask (FFP2 or equivalent) may be needed depending on the application and environment.
  • Electrical safety: Ensure the plug matches the outlet, do not modify the plug, and use a weather-proof extension cord (uncoiled) if necessary. The product should be supplied with a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30mA. Never touch the mains plug or socket with wet hands.

Maintenance Features

  • Regular Inspection: Inspect the high-pressure cleaner for safe operation every 6 months. Check all nuts, bolts, and screws for proper tightness.
  • Damage Check: Before each use, check for damage to the high-pressure hose and other important parts. Replace damaged parts immediately.
  • Cleaning: Clean all foreign materials from the product.
  • Storage Preparation: Before storing, stop the product, disconnect from the power supply and water supply, allow it to cool down, remove water from all hoses and the pump, and empty the detergent tank.
  • Authorized Service: For repairs beyond adjustments described in the manual, contact an authorized service center. Use only original manufacturer's replacement parts, accessories, and attachments.
  • Frost Protection: Do not use the product in temperatures below 0°C. Ensure the pump, hoses, or accessories are thawed if frozen.

Transportation and Storage:

  • Mind the weight of the product during transportation and storage.
  • Store the product in a cool, frost-free, dry, and well-ventilated place, inaccessible to children.
  • Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts.
  • Do not store outdoors.
