－ Insert the ribbon guide frontwards and then lift it until it hooks on to the
two plastic pins on the carriage's open slots behind the printhead platen
(a "clack" sound is heard).

－ Turn the carriage knob counterclockwise until the ribbon is taut and then
remove tab.
－ Using the specific lever, completely lower the upper part of the
mechanical assembly containing the printhead and ribbon cartridge.
－ Close the printer cover.
－ Power on the machine.
