Sesame Chicken Strips
Makes about 36
A touch of oriental flavour adds interest to these tender chicken strips may be
served as an appetiser, a snack with drinks or as a light main course.
6 chicken breast fillets, skin removed
Marinade:
2 tablespoon salt reduced soy sauce
1 tablespoon dry sherry
2 teaspoon cornflour, 1 teaspoon chilli sauce
1 teaspoon grated ginger root
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 teaspoon honey, +-/ ¼ cup sesame seeds
Light oil for deep fryer
Flatten chicken fillets between plastic, cut into finger sized strips.
In a shallow dish, mix marinade ingredients thoroughly.
Add chicken to marinade and refrigerate for several hours.
Drain strips well, press on sesame seeds until well coated.
Heat oil in the Salton Deep Fryer to 170°C and cook strips for 4 5 minutes
or until cooked thoroughly.
Serve hot, garnished with peas and carrot straws or with a side salad for a
light meal
Note: May be deep fried in advance and reheated briefly at 180°C in an
oven.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Remove the electrical plug from the outlet.
Ensure that the temperature selection is set to “0” or “OFF” and that all oil or
fat has been poured out of the unit.
