Series accessories start with the TD30
cassette recorder/player that fits neatly
into a special compartment above the
EX30’s mixer to provide background
music, record meetings or musical per-
formances. There is even a pitch control
that allows the tempo of the music to be
adjusted for aerobic applications.
For even more freedom, Expedition can
incorporate a variety of Samson wireless
systems that offer superior RF and audio
performance already proven on stages
around the world.
Expedition enclosures are injection-
molded with Polypropylene and feature
substantial internal bracing to support
the side wall construction. The result is a
loudspeaker that’s lightweight and compact, yet also strong and
rigid allowing maximum energy to be delivered to the sound out-
put. Convenient fly-points, a steel grill and a scuff-resistant tex-
tured finish ensure exceptional versatility, ruggedness and depend-
able performance.
The Expedition is extremely portable. With a telescoping handle
and locking wheels, taking fully professional audio anywhere you
need to go has never been easier.

The EX30 is an active monitor with a
built in stereo mixer and digital effects
processing. The 4-channel mixer fea-
tures two Mic/Line channels and a
Stereo Channel with mic pre. In addi-
tion to a standard TRS stereo line
input, channel three also has RCA
inputs that allow the user to easily
interface a CD, MiniDisk or Tape
player. The digital effects section has
six reverb presets that range from a
touch of room ambience to lush halls.
The EX30’s mixer has balanced XLR
Left and Right outputs for daisy-
chaining additional enclosures in
stereo, recording and presentation or
performance. The mixer’s output can
be monitored via its multi-segment
VU meter, and there is also an LED meter indicating power
level available from the optional RB20/30 rechargeable bat-
tery cartridge. Designed as a completely portable, all-in-one
PA system with digital effects, the EX30 is ideal for people on
the move.
The EX30 enclosure is equipped with a custom designed,
Kevlar-impregnated 12″ Low Frequency driver with a 2.5″
voice coil and Kapton former, and a 50 oz barium ferrite
magnet for accurate and super tight bass response. Expedition’s
High Frequency section employs a 1″ compression driver with
a specially designed phenolic diaphragm, along with an ellipti-
cal wave guide horn design that reduces nearly all diffraction,
and a phasing plug that produces a linear response with a
clear, sweet top end.
