Character preview
: Check to display an automatic preview of
the current character selection within the text string. This is
helpful when multiple characters are available within one key.

Key-tap sound
: Check to play a brief sound each time you
touch a key on the on-screen keyboard.
•Tutorial
: Displays help for using the Samsung keyboard and
XT9 predictive text.
• Reset settings
: Reset keyboard settings except XT9 my words
and auto-substitution.
Swype Keypad Settings
To configure Swype settings:
Touch next to Swype to display the following
options:
•How to Swype
: View an on-screen manual for Swype.
•Gestures
: Learn the Swype shortcuts that accomplish
common tasks.
• Preferences
: Alter these settings:

Vibrate on keypress
: Activates a vibration sensation as you
enter text using the keypad.

Sound on keypress
: Turns on sounds generated by the Swype
application.

Show helpful tips
: Turns on a flashing indicator for quick help.

Auto-spacing
: Automatically inserts a space between words.
When you finish a word, just lift your finger or stylus and start the
next word.

Auto-capitalization
: Automatically capitalizes the first letter of
a sentence.

Show complete trace
: Once enabled, sets wether or not to
display the complete Swype path.

Pop-up on keypress
: Once enabled, displays a character
above an on-screen key while typing.

Next word prediction
: Once enabled, predicts the next word
in your text string based on your current text entries.
Note:
Disable this feature if incorrect words display as you
type.

Reset Swype’s dictionary
: Delete all words you have added
to Swype’s dictionary.

Version
: Displays the software version information.
• Language Options
: Activate and select the text input
language. Default language is English.
