Data Usage Settings Operations
● Enable Mobile Data: In Data usage window, tap Mobile data to enable the service.
● Enable Restrictions on Mobile Data Usage: From the Data usage window, tap Limit mobile
data usage to enable the restriction.
With restriction turned on, drag the horizontal Limit slider up or down to set the data usage
limit.
● Set Amount for Alert when Data Usage Increases: From the Data usage wi
ndow, tap Alert me
about data usage, and then drag
the horizontal Warning slider up and down to set an amount.
Data usage amounts are approximate. Actual amounts may differ.
● Set Date for Resetting Data Usage: To set the data usage measuring cycle, from the Data
usage window, tap the box next to Data usage cycle, tap Change cycle, set a reset date, and
tap Set.
● Check Data Usage for Each Application: To see how your data is being used, slide the vertical
white bars in the graph to set a usage period, and then tap an app name to see its usage for the
period.
● Enable Permissions for Data Roaming: From the Data usage window, tap Menu
>
Data
roaming.
Tap Data roaming
to enable the restriction.
● Enable Restriction on Mobile Data in Background: From the Data usage window, tap Menu
>
Restrict background data
>
OK.
The availability of roaming services is dependent on your service plan. Check with carrier and
service plan for details.
This setting stops some apps and services from working unless your phone is connected to a
Wi-Fi network.
● View
Both Mobile Data and Wi-Fi Usage: From the Data usage window, tap Menu
>
Show
Wi-Fi usage.
Tap Show Wi-Fi usage to enable the option.
When Show Wi-Fi usage is enabled, you will see a Wi-Fi tab at the top of the Data usage
window. Tap to view your phone’s Wi-Fi data usage.
Select Wi-Fi networks which are
mobile hotspots: From the Data usage window, tap
Menu
