This document is an Owner's Instructions & Cooking Guide for the Samsung ME73M Microwave Oven. It provides comprehensive information on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description
The Samsung ME73M is a microwave oven designed for heating food. It operates by generating radio-frequency energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation, classifying it as Group 2 Class B ISM equipment. This means it is suitable for domestic use and establishments connected to a low voltage power supply network. The oven features various cooking modes, including standard microwave cooking, instant reheat/cook, and auto rapid defrost. It also supports multistage cooking, allowing users to program up to three consecutive stages (e.g., defrosting followed by two cooking stages). A key feature is the energy save mode, which blanks the display and prevents oven use after 5 minutes of inactivity, conserving electricity.

Usage Features
The ME73M microwave oven is designed for user-friendly operation with a clear control panel and display.
- Control Panel: The control panel includes a display, buttons for Auto Rapid Defrost, Auto Reheat/Cook, Microwave Mode, Time Setting, Stop/Cancel, Weight Selection, Clock Setting, +30s, Start, and Energy Save.
- Accessories: The oven comes with a coupler, roller ring, and turntable, all essential for proper operation. The coupler rotates the turntable, which supports the food during cooking.
- Setting the Time: The oven has an inbuilt clock that displays "12:00" when power is supplied. Users can set the current time in either 12-hour or 24-hour notation. The clock needs to be reset after a power failure or when switching to/from summer and winter time.
- Cooking/Reheating:
- Power Levels: Users can select from various power levels: HIGH (800 W), MEDIUM HIGH (600 W), MEDIUM (450 W), MEDIUM LOW (300 W), DEFROST (180 W), and LOW (100 W). Higher power levels require decreased cooking time, and lower power levels require increased cooking time.
- Adjusting Cooking Time: The cooking time can be increased in 30-second increments by pressing the +30s button.
- Stopping Cooking: Cooking can be temporarily paused by opening the door and resumed by closing the door and pressing Start. To stop cooking completely, the Stop/Cancel button is used.
- Instant Reheat/Cook Feature: This feature automatically sets the cooking time. Users select the desired program (e.g., Ready meals, Frozen ready meals, Drinks) and the number of servings. The oven starts after two seconds, and beeps four times when finished, followed by three reminder beeps.
- Instant Reheat/Cook Settings Examples:
- Ready meals (300-450 g): 3 min. (Put on ceramic plate, cover with microwave cling film. Suitable for meals with 3 components.)
- Frozen ready meals (300-450 g): 4 min. (Check dish suitability, pierce film, place in center. Suitable for meals with 3 components.)
- Drinks (150-250 ml): 1-2 min. (Pour into ceramic cup, reheat uncovered. Stir before and after.)
- Auto Rapid Defrost Feature: This feature automatically sets defrost time and power level based on food type and weight. Users select the program (Meat, Poultry, Fish, Fruit/Berry) and the food weight (up to 1500 g). The oven beeps halfway through defrosting to prompt turning the food over.
- Auto Rapid Defrost Settings Examples:
- Meat (200-1500 g): 20-90 min. (Shield edges with aluminum foil, turn over when beeps. Suitable for beef, lamb, pork, steaks, chops, minced meat.)
- Poultry (200-1500 g): 20-90 min. (Shield leg/wing tips, turn over when beeps. Suitable for whole chicken/portions.)
- Fish (200-1500 g): 20-80 min. (Shield tail, turn over when beeps. Suitable for whole fish/fillets.)
- Fruit/Berry (100-600 g): 5-20 min. (Spread evenly in flat glass dish. Suitable for all fruits.)
- Multistage Cooking: Allows programming up to three stages. If three stages are set, the first must be defrosting. The example provided is defrosting and cooking a 500 g fish in three stages (Defrosting, Cook I, Cook II), with specific power levels and times for each stage.
Maintenance Features
Regular cleaning is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the microwave oven.
- Cleaning Frequency: The inside and outside surfaces, door and door seals, turntable, and roller rings should be cleaned regularly to prevent grease and food particle build-up.
- Cleaning Procedure:
- Clean outside surfaces with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry.
- Remove splashes or stains from inside surfaces or the roller ring with a soapy cloth, then rinse and dry.
- To loosen hardened food particles and remove smells, place a cup of diluted lemon juice on the turntable and heat for ten minutes at maximum power.
- Wash the dishwasher-safe plate (turntable) as needed.
- Important Cleaning Notes:
- ALWAYS ensure door seals are clean and the door closes properly.
- DO NOT spill water in the vents.
- NEVER use abrasive products or chemical solvents.
- Take particular care when cleaning door seals to ensure no particles accumulate or prevent the door from closing correctly.
- Failure to maintain cleanliness can lead to deterioration of surfaces, affecting appliance life and potentially causing hazardous situations.
