Email Account Settings
Use Account settings to configure handling of your email.
Note: Some email accounts may have different, or additional, settings.
1. From a Home screen, touch Applications ➔
Email .
2. Touch an account to view it, then touch Menu ➔ More
➔ Account settings .
3. Touch fields to configure the account:
• General settings
– Account name : Enter a name for the account’s display.
– Your name : Enter your name, to be used on emails.
– Email check frequency : Touch an email check time interval.
– Default account : When enabled, this account is the default account
for sending email from your phone.
– Always Cc/Bcc myself : Select to include your email address in Cc/
Bcc line.
• Exchange Sync settings
– Amount to synchronize : Set the days or month for email
synchronization.
– Empty Server Trash : Allows you to delete the contents of the trash
folder on the server.
– Sync schedule : Set synchronization frequency and parameters.
– Out-of-office Settings : Enter and out of office message.
– Size to retrieve emails : Set email retrieval size.
– Security Policies : View email policies sent by server.
• Notification settings
– Email notifications : Enable or disable alerts in the Status Bar.
– Select ringtone : Choose a ringtone to use for new email alerts.
– Vibrate : Enable or disable vibration with new email alerts.
• Server settings :
– Exchange server settings : Modify server settings.
– Incoming settings : Modify incoming email server settings.
– Outgoing settings : Modify outgoing email server settings.
– Sync Email : Sync email from the account.
– Sync contacts : Sync contacts from the account.
– Sync calendar : Sync calendar events from the account.
• Signature settings
– Add Signature : Touch if you would like a signature to display on
outgoing messages.
– Signature : Create a signature that will display on outgoing messages
when Add Signature option checked.
• Common settings
– Forward with files : Ha
– Confirm Email Delete : Have your phone prompt you to confirm
selected actions, such as deletions.
