Receive Phone Calls
When you receive a call, you can accept the call, or reject the call to send it to voicemail. You can also
reject a call with a message, to send a text message to the caller.
Note: If your device is turned off, all calls automatically go to voicemail.
Answer an Incoming Call
When you receive a phone call from a number stored in Contacts, the contact’s information displays on
the screen. When you receive a phone call from a number that is not stored in Contacts, the phone
number displays on the screen.
When your device notifies you of an incoming call, drag to the right to answer the call.
Mute the Ringing Sound
You can mute the ringtone without rejecting the call by doing one of the following.
Press the Volume key down.
Place the device screen-down on a level surface. See Motions and Gestures Settings for options,
including the Mute/pause Motion to mute incoming calls by turning over the device.
Cover the screen with your hand. See Motions and Gestures Settings for options, including the
Mute/pause motion to mute incoming calls by covering the screen with your hand.
Reject an Incoming Call
When you reject a call, the caller is sent to voicemail, where they can leave a voice message.
When your device notifies you of an incoming call, drag to the left to reject the call.
Reject an Incoming Call with a Text Message
You can reject an incoming call by sending a text message to the caller.
1. When your device notifies you of an incoming call, drag toward the top of the screen.
2. Select an existing message.

Tap to compose a new text message.
