The TracFone Samsung Galaxy Core Prime™ is a mobile phone designed for everyday communication and internet access. It operates on the TracFone Wireless Service Plans, offering users a prepaid service model without contracts or hidden fees. The device is equipped with a touchscreen interface, a front-facing camera, and various applications to enhance user experience.

Getting Started

To begin using your TracFone, the first step is to locate the Activation Card inside your package. This card contains essential information, including the Serial and SIM Numbers, needed to activate your phone. Activation can be completed online at TracFone.com or by calling 1-800-867-7183 from another phone. During activation, you will need to provide your Service Plan PIN (which can also be purchased during activation), the device's Serial Number or IMEI, and if transferring a number from a different company, your active phone number, current service account number, name, address, password or PIN, and an alternate contact number.

Once activated, it is recommended to set up your TracFone Account on TracFone.com. This account allows you to manage your personal profile, update billing information, view your Service End Date, access TracFone programs, special offers, and promotions, buy or add service plans, enroll in Monthly Value Plans, check your balance, manage credit card info, get international calling information, and view the TracFone Support Forum and FAQs. For on-the-go management, the free TracFone My Account app is available on Google Play™, providing easy access to your Minutes, Text, and Data balances, as well as your Service End Date. The app can be downloaded by scanning a QR code or directly from Google Play™.

About Your TracFone Service

To ensure your TracFone service remains active, it is crucial to refill your Service Plan before your Service End Date. TracFone Airtime Plans add Minutes and Service Days to your phone. You can check your Service End Date by logging into your account on TracFone.com or by calling Customer Care at 1-800-867-7183. TracFone Wireless Service Plans are exclusively designed for TracFone cellular phones and can be purchased at participating retailers nationwide, on TracFone.com, or through the Customer Care Center.

TracFone offers Monthly Airtime Plans that provide the convenience of contract plans without the commitment. These plans include Individual Plan, Family Value Plan, and TracFone Service Protection Plan options. Enrolling in a Monthly Airtime Plan ensures you automatically receive Minutes and Service Days every month, with plans starting at $9.99/month and no contracts or cancellation fees. Enrollment requires a valid credit or debit card and can be done at TracFone.com/valueplans or by calling 1-800-867-7183.

How to Use Your TracFone

The phone features a headset jack, volume controls, and several physical and on-screen buttons for navigation and interaction.

  • Headset Jack: For connecting headphones.
  • Volume: To adjust the sound level.
  • HOME Button: Press to access the Home screen; press and hold to open Google Search.
  • RECENT APPLICATIONS Button: Press to open recently-used applications; press and hold to remove pages, access wallpaper settings, or the widget menu.
  • PWR/LOCK Button: Press to lock or wake the screen. Press and hold to turn the phone ON/OFF.
  • BACK Button: Press to go back to the previous screen, menu, or option.
  • CHARGER/USB DOCK: For charging and data transfer.

Basic Phone Operations:

  • Unlock Your Screen: Slide your finger in any direction across the screen. If the screen is dark, press PWR/LOCK or the HOME key.
  • Find Your Serial Number (IMEI): Press HOME, tap Apps, then Settings. Slide up to About phone, then tap Status.
  • Find Your SIM Number (ICCID): Press HOME, tap Apps, then Settings. Slide up to About phone, then tap Status.
  • Find Your Phone Number: Press HOME, tap Apps, then Settings. Slide up to About phone, then tap Status.
  • Make and Receive Calls: From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon. Enter the number on the keypad and tap the Phone icon to call. To answer, slide the Phone icon to the right. To end a call, tap End call.
  • Make International Calls: TracFone allows calls to over 100 international destinations at no additional cost after 2 business days of activation. Dial 1-800-706-3839 (or 1-305-938-5673 for Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. Virgin Islands), select your language, listen to dialing instructions, then dial 011 + Country Code + City Code + Telephone Number. For Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, and Dominican Republic, dial 1 + City Code + Telephone Number.
    • TracFone Frequent Numbers Service: Program up to ten U.S. 800 numbers to connect directly to frequently dialed international numbers without following the multi-step dialing process. Register at TracFone.com or call Customer Care.
    • TracFone International Neighbors Service (for Mexico): Your family and friends in Mexico can call your TracFone directly using a local Mexican phone number assigned by TracFone, and the call will deduct minutes as if it were a local call. Register at TracFone.com.
  • Set Up Your Google™ Account: To access Google Play™ and other applications, press HOME, tap Apps, then Gmail. Follow the tutorial to add your account. Your first Google account registered will be your Primary Google account, syncing contacts, calendar entries, and Gmail.
  • Set Up Your Voicemail: Press HOME, tap the Phone icon, then the Keypad icon if needed. Press and hold '1' for several seconds. Follow the prompts. To end the call, tap End Call.
  • Send Text Messages: Press HOME, tap Messages, then Compose. Enter recipients, then tap Enter message to type your message. Tap Send when finished.
  • Set Up Your Bluetooth®: Press HOME, tap Apps, then Settings. Tap Bluetooth, then the ON/OFF button to turn it on. Tap the desired device name to pair. If prompted for a PIN, use 0000 or refer to the headset's user guide.
  • Take and Share Your Pictures:
    • Take a Picture: Press HOME, tap Camera, then tap the Camera icon on screen. Pictures are saved to Gallery. You can also access Camera directly from the Lock screen by sliding the Camera icon.
    • Front-facing camera: Press HOME, tap Camera, then tap the front-facing camera icon. Tap the Camera icon to take a picture.
    • Share the Picture: Tap the Picture icon (lower left of screen), tap anywhere to display options, tap the share icon. To send via MMS, tap Messages, enter recipients, type your message, then tap Send.
  • Personalize With Ringtones and More:
    • Ringtones: Press HOME, tap Apps, then Settings. Tap Sound, then Ringtones. Select your preferred ringtone and tap OK.
    • Graphics: Press HOME, tap Apps, then Settings. Tap Display, then Wallpaper. Choose an option, select an image, and tap Done or Set wallpaper.
  • Manage Applications: Press HOME, tap Apps, then Settings. Slide up to Application Manager. View running apps under the RUNNING tab. Tap an application to manage or close it.
  • Use the Mobile Internet Services: Press HOME, then tap the Internet icon to access TracFone Mobile Web. Data consumption depends on content size and time. Refer to TracFone Wireless Terms and Conditions for details.
  • Security Settings:
    • Screen Lock: Press HOME > Apps > Settings > Lock screen > Screen lock. Select your preferred lock type and follow prompts.
    • Forgot Security Setting: If you have registered a Gmail account, tap Forgot pattern? and sign in to unlock. If still unable, call Customer Care at 1-800-867-7183 to reset, which will erase all internal data.
  • Additional Features and Apps:
    • Memory Card: Your phone supports up to 64GB. To access, power off, remove the back cover, and locate the slot above the battery. Insert the card gold bars down until it clicks. To remove, slide it out (phone off recommended).
    • Download Applications and Content: Tap the Play Store icon from the main screen to browse and download apps, games, music, and more. A Gmail account and credit/debit card are required for purchases. TracFone Customer Care cannot provide technical assistance or refunds for app purchases.
    • MY FILES: Access files stored on your device, organized into categories like Recent Files, Images, Videos, Audio, Documents, and Download applications.
    • GOOGLE FOLDER: Contains several Google applications grouped on the Home screen.

Tips for Optimal Use:

  • Notifications Panel: Slide down from the top of the screen to view notifications.
  • T9 Trace™ keyboard: Use Swype® (T9 Trace) for quick text entry by tracing your finger over letters.
  • Settings Access: Slide down the Notifications Panel and tap the Settings icon.
  • Contacts: Organize contacts with the Contacts app, which can sync with Google, Email, Facebook, and Samsung accounts.
  • Hangouts: Use for meeting friends and family, sharing photos, and video calls.
  • Customizable Screens: Slide across the screen to access different home screens. Move icons by tapping Apps, then tapping and holding the icon until it appears on the desired screen.

Maintenance Features:

  • Organize Applications: From the Home screen, tap Apps, then the three dots (upper right) to edit, uninstall/disable, hide, or create new folders.
  • Increase Data Speeds: Use a secure Wi-Fi® connection when available.
  • Automatic Backup: Your phone automatically backs up to your Gmail account. To ensure contacts, paid apps, calendar, and Gmail are restored, go to Home > Apps > Settings > Accounts > Google, select your primary Gmail account, and choose features to back up/sync.
  • Manual Backup: Multimedia and other files need manual backup. Use Google Play™ to find an app, or go to Home > Apps > Settings > Backup & reset.
  • Master or Factory Data Reset: This erases all internal memory data, including Gmail account access. Remember your Gmail username and password to resync information after a reset.
  • Extend Battery Life:
    • Close unnecessary running services and applications using the Application Manager.
    • Turn off Bluetooth® and GPS when not in use.
    • Turn off automatic application sync.
    • Set Screen Timeout to the lowest setting (default is 30 seconds).
    • Reduce data usage.
    • Reduce use of Live Wallpapers.
    • Use the factory charger to avoid battery damage.

Data Managing Tips:

  • Wi-Fi®: Use secure Wi-Fi connections for data-heavy content like streaming music and video. A Wi-Fi finder app can help locate networks.
  • AUTO UPDATES: Turn off auto updates for apps or set them to update only via Wi-Fi.
  • PHOTOS: Turn off automatic photo uploading or set it to upload only via Wi-Fi.
  • EMAIL: Turn off push e-mail or set accounts to sync less frequently (e.g., every hour or greater), or manually.
  • MOBILE WEBSITES: Access mobile versions of websites to reduce data usage.
  • BACKGROUND APPS: Turn off apps running in the background to save data and improve processing speed.
  • USAGE ALERTS: Download a Data Usage App to track usage and set mobile data limit reminders (Android™ version 4.0 and later).
