AVOID:
●
heat sources, exhaust fans, etc. (Fig. 4a)
●
damp, humid or uneven locations.
DO:
●
choose a place as cool as possible.
●
choose a place that is well ventilated and where the
outside air temperature does not constantly exceed a
maximum 115°F (45°C).
●
allow enough room around the unit for air intake/
exhaust and possible maintenance. (Fig. 4b)
●
install the unit on the 2 accessory steel rails bolted
down to a concrete pad or cinder block platform.
These accessory parts are provided to protect the
unit from possible water and/or icing problems and
ensure longer service life. (Fig. 4c)
●
use lug bolts or equal to bolt down unit, reducing
vibration and noise.
Installing the Outdoor Unit in Heavy Snow Areas
In locations where wind-blown snow can be a problem,
snow-proof vents should be fitted to the unit and direct
exposure to the wind should be avoided as much as
possible. These problems may occur if proper counter-
measures are not taken:
●
The fan in the outdoor unit may not run, causing the
unit to be damaged.
●
There may be no air flow.
●
The tubing may freeze and burst.
●
The condenser pressure may drop because of strong
wind and the indoor unit may freeze.

For stable operation of the air con-
ditioner, do not install wall-mount-
ed type indoor units under 4.9 ft.
from the floor level.
In regions with heavy snowfall, the out-
door unit should be provided with a solid,
raised platform and snow-proof vents.
The platform should be higher than the
maximum snow depth.
