CONTROLS

Push
in to turn the
unit
on.
Push
in
again and
release the
button
to turn
the
unit off.
RECORD
key
Switches
the recqrder into the
record mode,
but
must
be
depressed with
the PLAY key.
The RECORD
key
can be
depressed only
if
a cassette,
with erase safeguards
intact,
is inserted into the
cassette
compartment.
REWIND key
Rewinds tape
rapidly.
FAST
FORWARD
(F
FWD) key
Advances tape rapidly.
PLAY key
Starts tape
motion
during
PLAY
and
RECORD mode.
STOP/EJECT
key
When
depressed, all
RECORD, PLAY, REWIND, and
FAST
FORWARD
functions
are
stopped.
Depressing
the key
again will open
the
cassette compartment
lid.
PAUSE
key
When depressed,
instantly
stops
tape motion during
recording
or
playback.
To
restart,
depress'the
PAUSE key
again.
MICROPHONE
(MlC-LEFTI
MIC-RIGHT)
jacks
Separate
inputs for
left
and
right
channel
microphones
permit
live
stereo
recordings.
Plugging
in microphones, stops
recording
of other
pro
giam
source
from receiver or
pre-amplifier.
When
not in
use,
pull
out
microphones.

Set
to
the type
of
tape being used.
Push
in the
switch
when using CrO,
(Chromium
Dioxide
or equivalent)
tape
and
release
for Normal
(Ferric)
tape.
INPUT LEVEL controls
Separate
controls
provide
independent adjustment
of
each
channel's
recording
level for
precise
adjusting
and
balancing
of
stereo
signals.
PHONES
jack
Provide for headphone
monitoring during
recording as
well as
private
listening
during
playback.
Level
display
This
level
display shows
actual
peak
levels,
and
lets
you
set
the
best
recording
level. lt also show
relative
playback
sound
level.
RECORD indicator
Lights up when
the recorder
is
placed
in the
RECORD
mode.
TAPE COUNTER and
RESET buttON
The
3-digit
counter enables
you
to locate
any
point
on
the
cassette
tape.
When
you
start
recording,
set
the counter
to
"000"
by
pressing
the RESET button.
As
you
record various
selections,
make
a
note
of the
counter
number
at
the
beginning
of each.
To
play
back a
particular
selection, depress
the FAST FORWARD
or
REWIND
key until
the counter
registers the number
previously
noted.
Cassette
compartment
Holds the
cassette
while
you
record
or
play
back a
tape.
