FOCUS RANGE SETTING (DISTANCE)
The focus distance can be set to a specific range. Also, with super macro
photography, you can capture the image of a subject as close as 2 cm.
1 Set the camera to the BASIC shoot-
ing mode (see page 50), and select
the focus menu.
2 Select the desired focus icon, and press the SET button.
HINT
i You can set the focus range by pressing the focus button [ ] even when
the LCD monitor is not on or when the Shooting Setting Screen is not
shown.
i In some cases, the focus may not work in the super macro mode when the
night view [ ] or lamp [ ] Scene Select setting is active.
NOTE
About the focus range when the scene select function is active
i The focus range setting is fixed to the normal mode if the scene select
function is set to sports , portrait , landscape or cosmetic
.
: The camera automatically
focuses on the subject within a
range of 20 cm (Wide end) or
30 cm (Tele end) to infinity.
: You can focus on a subject within
a range of 2 cm (Wide end) or 30
cm (Tele end) to 50 cm (super
macro).
: You can focus on a subject about
1m away.
: You can focus on a subject about
2.5 m away.
: You can focus on a subject in the
distance.
