If the flame detector (photocell) becomes sooty
or dirty the reduced sensitivity will cause erratic
and
incorrect boiler operation.
Cleaning the flame detector
Remove the flame detector (photocell) which
is located at the
top of the burner.
Wipe the glass surface
of the flame detector
(photocell) using a clean rag and replace.
During the annual service the flue system should
be checked for correct
installation, blockages,
corrosion or leakage. Any abnormalities found
should be rectified immediately.
