  If your Scag Power Equipment Lawn Mower is leaving occasional blades of uncut grass, several factors could be responsible. Ensure the engine is running at full RPM. If the ground speed is too fast, slow down to adjust for conditions. Avoid cutting wet grass; wait until it has dried out. Check the blades; dull or incorrectly sharpened blades need sharpening. A plugged deck due to grass accumulation requires cleaning the underside of the deck. Finally, slipping belts require adjusting the belt tension.

If the ground speed is too fast, slow down to adjust for the conditions. Also, check if you are cutting too low; you may need to reduce ground speed, raise the cutting height, or change the direction of the cut and/or change the pitch and level. If you are mowing on rough terrain, you may need to reduce ground speed, raise the cutting height, and/or change the direction of the cut. Cutting wet grass can also cause scalping, so cut the grass after it has dried out.
