The SDREAM Ur is an electric bicycle designed for urban commuting and recreational riding, offering a blend of traditional cycling and electric assistance. This manual provides comprehensive guidance on its setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure safe and optimal use.
The SDREAM Ur functions as a pedal-assist electric bicycle, meaning its motor provides assistance while the rider pedals. It features multiple electric assist levels (0-5) to cater to different riding conditions and rider preferences, from minimal assistance to significant power boost. A unique "walking mode" activates the motor at a steady 3.7 mph (6 km/h), allowing the rider to walk alongside the bike effortlessly. The e-bike is equipped with a 7-speed Shimano cassette and shifter, enabling riders to adjust speed and torque to suit various terrains and weather conditions, such as using a lower gear for uphill climbs and a higher gear for flat, high-speed riding. For safety, it incorporates a brake power cutoff system that deactivates the power assist when the brake lever is held and resumes when released. The bike also features a headlight for improved visibility during low-light conditions. Its foldable design enhances portability and storage convenience, making it suitable for urban dwellers or those with limited space.
The SDREAM Ur's display provides crucial information to the rider, including the current electric assist level, current speed, total trip distance (restarts after 999.9 units), headlight indicator, and battery power level (1-5 LED bars). A flashing single bar indicates very low battery. The e-bike's maximum range is approximately 24-50 miles (40-80 kilometers), influenced by factors such as pedal input, assist level, tire pressure, terrain, and wind resistance. The battery is a removable Li-ion unit, and a full charge typically takes 3-8 hours, with an initial charge of 8-10 hours recommended before first use. The charger's indicator light turns red during charging and green when fully charged. The charger operates within a normal temperature range, feeling warm but not exceeding 131°F/55°C. The cassette is made of steel, which may be susceptible to rust if exposed to water.
The SDREAM Ur is designed for user-friendly operation. The display is turned on/off by pressing the Power-On/Off key for 2 seconds. Electric assist levels are adjusted using the Plus (^) and Minus (v) keys. The Mode (M) key cycles through various display modes: total trip distance (TRIP), total trip time (TRIP TIME), average speed (AVG), maximum speed (MAX), and odometer (ODO). The walking mode is activated by pressing and holding the Minus (v) key and exited by releasing it. The headlight is toggled by a 1-second long press of the Plus (^) key. To activate power assist, the assist level must be set to 1 or higher, and the rider must pedal for at least half a turn. The bike's foldable design involves loosening clamps at the handlebar hinge and frame hinge, then folding the handlebar and frame. Pedals can also be pushed inward and up 90 degrees for folding. The battery can be charged either while installed on the bike or removed. To remove the battery, the seat post clamp needs to be loosened, and the battery pulled from the frame.
Proper maintenance is crucial for the longevity and performance of the SDREAM Ur. Before each ride, it is recommended to perform quick checks: ensure all major bolts are tightened, tires have adequate pressure, brakes react correctly, and there is no play in the derailleur, chain, or wheel spokes. The battery should be charged and secured. All cable connections must be correctly plugged in, aligning the two arrows on connectors if they have been disconnected. For battery longevity, it is advised not to drain the battery completely; if it runs out, charge it within 24 hours. Charging the battery at least once a month is recommended, even if the e-bike is not used. When storing the battery for a long time, ensure the charge level stays above 40%. The battery and charger should be kept in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Only the original charger should be used. During charging, ensure good airflow around the charger. The e-bike should not be washed with water; instead, use a wet towel, keeping it away from battery terminals. Brake discs should not be lubricated to prevent malfunction. The battery or drive unit should not be disassembled, and battery terminals should not be touched (they can be cleaned with a battery cleaner without water). Lubricants should not be sprayed into wire ports. The steel cassette, if rusted, can be cleaned with store-bought rust remover. Most mechanical parts are similar to normal bikes and can be serviced at a local bike shop. The brakes can be replaced with compatible aftermarket options, but professional installation is recommended. The SDREAM Ur comes with a one-year limited warranty covering free parts and technical support, with out-of-warranty service available for a separate charge.
