This document describes the Septree FOOD DEHYDRATOR, Model: ST-01, a device designed for drying various food items.
Function Description:
The Septree food dehydrator is used to remove moisture from food, preserving it and creating dried snacks such as fruits, vegetables, meats (jerky), and herbs. It operates by circulating warm air, allowing for even drying across multiple trays. The dehydrator is equipped with a control panel that allows users to set and adjust temperature and time settings, providing flexibility for different types of food. It is designed for household use and is not intended for outdoor use. The device is grounded to protect the operator from electric shock.

Usage Features:
- Control Panel: Features buttons for "TEMP" (temperature), "ON/OFF," and "TIME."
- ON/OFF: Press to start or stop the dehydrator.
- Temperature Setting: Press "TEMP" to set the temperature. Use the up/down arrows to adjust the temperature between 70°F and 190°F in 5°F increments. Press "TEMP" again to confirm. Holding the up/down arrow will change the temperature rapidly.
- Timer Setting: Press "TIME" to set the timer. Use the up/down arrows to adjust the time between 0:00 and 24:00 hours in 30-minute increments. Press "TIME" again to confirm. Holding the up/down arrow will change the timer rapidly.
- Audible Feedback: The dehydrator beeps once when any change to the timer or temperature is made.
- Door and Hasp: The dehydrator features a front door with a hasp. To close, lock the hasp tightly. To open, gently pull the buckle outward.
- Door Handle Installation: The door handle needs to be installed by the user. The installation kit includes 1 door handle, 2 installation screws, and 1 installation tool. Users align the handle to the front window position and use the provided tools and screws to fix it.
- Tray Usage: Food should be cut into slices and placed on the trays. Thinner slices result in shorter drying times. For less food, placing it on the middle trays is suggested.
- Standby Mode: If the "ON/OFF" button is pressed again during dehydration, the timer countdown will reset, and the dehydrator will enter standby mode.
- Automatic Shut-off: When the set timer finishes, the heating element will turn off. The fan will continue running for 30-40 seconds before stopping.
- Memory Function: The dehydrator remembers the previous temperature and timer settings.
- Safety: Heat-resistant gloves or oven mitts are recommended for handling trays after use due to high temperatures (up to 190°F).
- Drying Guide: A dehydrating guide is provided on the control panel, listing recommended temperature ranges for various items like herbs, flour fermentation, yogurt, vegetables, fruits & fruit rolls, and meats/fish/jerky.
- Recipe Book: A recipe book is included for additional tips on dehydrating foods.
Maintenance Features:
- Initial Setup: Before first use, remove all packaging and accessories. Wipe and clean all parts. Place the dehydrator on a solid, level surface at least 6 inches from the wall. Run the dehydrator for 30 minutes at any temperature without food to ventilate any initial smoke or smells (this is normal). Rinse and dry the trays afterward.
- Cleaning:
- Unplug the dehydrator and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Clean stainless steel trays, drip tray, non-stick silicone sheets, and storage bottles with a lightly dampened cloth and detergent as needed. Rinse with clean water.
- For residue from liquid recipes, wipe the tray with a paper towel before cleaning.
- Soak trays in hot water for easy removal of food residue.
- Clean trays with a soft brush.
- Important: Do not immerse the main unit (main engine) into water or other liquids. Ensure all parts are dry before storing or using the dehydrator again.
- Storage: Store dried foods in airtight containers in a cool place below 70°F (21°C) to prevent mold.
- Troubleshooting:
- Dehydrator not working: Unplug and plug it in again. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
- Uneven drying: Cut foods evenly. Refer to the recipe book for tips.
- Food goes moldy: Check moisture and temperature before storing. Use airtight containers and refer to the drying guide for storage recommendations.
- Operational Limits: Do not use the dehydrator for more than 48 hours at a time. After 48 hours, unplug it and allow it to cool for 2 hours before using again.
- Warranty Period: 36-month warranty from the date of purchase (requires purchase receipt).
