The command letters indicated can be used in place of “S” in the command:
/ [string identifier] $ S
The string identifier may consist of any uppercase ASCII character (A-Z), any number (0-9), a space,
or a hyphen (-). It may be up to 25 characters in length. Lowercase ASCII character (a-z) are trans-

DO NOT SEND A CARRIAGE RETURN, CR, OR A LINE FEED, LF, DURING OR AFTER THE STRING
IDENTIFIER.
Receiving Data From the Scale Using the Immediate Print Mode
When a scale is connected to a computer, it is suggested that immediate print (“#”) be used. In
response to this command the scale will transmit whatever number or message appears in the scale
display. The “string format” output is shown below:
+/- 1 2 3 4 5 6 . c0 c1 c2 c3 CR LF
The first six digits represent the number field. A + or - sign always precedes a weight reading, and a
decimal point is always transmitted, though their exact location depends on the number transmitted.
Numbers with less than six digits are preceded by spaces and the sign is always adjacent to the
leading digit. The specific location of the decimal point depends on the precision of the number
transmitted.
“c0” is the INT mode character.
