Why is my Shark Vacuum Cleaner not picking up debris?
    • J
      Jessica LongJul 28, 2025
If your Shark Vacuum Cleaner isn't picking up debris and has no or light suction, several factors could be at play. First, examine the filters; they may require cleaning. Ensure you rinse them thoroughly and allow them to air-dry completely before placing them back in the vacuum. Also, the dust cup might be full, so empty it. Check the floor nozzle for any blockages and clear them if necessary. Finally, remove any obstructions like string, carpet fibers, or hair that might be wrapped around the brushroll and Soft Roller or trapped behind the Soft Roller.

      Alicia StewartAug 7, 2025
If your Shark Vacuum Cleaner turns off on its own, it may be overheating. Turn the vacuum off, unplug it, and empty the dust cup. Clean the filters and check for blockages in the hose, accessories, and inlet openings. Allow the unit to cool for at least 45 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.

If the Brushroll Indicator Light on the floor nozzle of your Shark Vacuum Cleaner turns red, it means the brushroll and/or Soft Roller have stopped spinning. Immediately turn off and unplug the vacuum, then remove any blockage before reconnecting and turning the vacuum back on. If the Brushroll Indicator Light on the floor nozzle is green, the blockage has been successfully cleared. If the light is still red, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-798-7398.
