Usage Features

The hob operates by pressing buttons, with functions confirmed by displays and sound signals.

  • Turn On/Off: The appliance is turned on by pressing the On/Off button for at least 1 second from Stand-By-Mode (S-Mode). All heater displays show '0' and the decimal point flashes. If no operation occurs within 10 seconds, displays turn off, and the hob returns to S-Mode. To turn off, press the On/Off button for more than 2 seconds (from Operating-Mode) or at any time.
  • Heater Selection: Select a heater by pressing its Active/Inactive Heater Button. The decimal point of the related heater display flashes.
  • Heat Setting: Adjust heat levels from 1 to 9 using the Heat Setting/Timer Sliding buttons. The selection must be made within 3 seconds, otherwise, the heater selection is erased.
  • Dual/Triple Zones: Available on some models. Activated by pressing the Dual/Triple Zone Selection button after selecting a heater and setting a level between 1-9. Pressing again toggles the zone status (dual on, triple on, all extended zones off).
  • Heat Boost: All heaters have a heat boost functionality, operating at maximum power for a period dependent on the selected heat setting. This is indicated by a flashing 'A' alternating with the heat setting. To activate, set heat to 0, then to 9. To deactivate, slide the finger across the panel until '0' appears.
  • Turn Off Individual Heaters:
    • Simultaneous operation of the right and left parts of the slider button.
    • Reducing the heat setting to '0' using the slider button.
    • Using the timer turn-off function for the corresponding heater.
  • Timer Function:
    • Minute Minder: Independent of heaters. Activated by pressing the Active/Inactive Timer button. Displays '00' and a flashing dot. Set time using the slider. It continues to run even if the appliance is switched off or key lock is active.
    • Heater Timer: Can be assigned to active heaters (levels 1-9). Activated by pressing the Active/Inactive Timer button a second time, then selecting the heater by pressing the button again (clockwise direction). Set time using the slider. When a heater timer runs out, the assigned heater level is set to '0'.
    • The timer display shows the timer that will run out next after 10 seconds of inactivity.
  • Key Lock: Blocks all buttons except On/Off, setting the appliance into a safe mode. Activated by pressing the Key Lock button for at least 2 seconds. Indicated by a flashing Key Lock Indicator. Deactivated by pressing the Key Lock button for 2 seconds again.
  • Child Lock: A multi-step process to lock the appliance, available only in S-Mode. First, press On/Off until a beep, then simultaneously press the right and left slider buttons for 0.5-1 second, then press only the left slider button. 'L' is displayed on all 4 heaters as confirmation. Deactivated by repeating the same sequence.
  • Stop & Go Function: Pauses heater operation during cooking. Pressing the Stop & Go button turns all heaters off. Pressing it again turns them back on.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning:
    • Always turn off the appliance and remove the plug or turn off main switches before cleaning.
    • Do not remove control knobs to clean the control panel.
    • Allow the hob to cool down if residual heat ('H' flashing) is present to avoid burns.
    • Remove spilled food and fat with a window scraper.
    • Wipe the hob with a suitable washing-up liquid and a clean damp cloth, then rub with a clean dry cloth.
    • Immediately remove melted aluminum foil or plastic items from hot cooking areas with a scraper to prevent surface damage. This also applies to sugar or food containing sugar.
    • For other food melting on the surface, clean when the appliance has cooled down using a glass, ceramic, or stainless steel cleaner.
    • Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, sharp metal scrapers, dishcloths, abrasive sponges, chemical detergents, sprays, or spot removers as they can scratch the surface, cause glass to shatter, or damage the vitroceramic color.
    • Do not use steam cleaners.
    • Clean with water and washing-up liquid.
  • Safety Functions (Touch Control):
    • Sensor Safety Cut Off: Prevents unwanted, random sensor operation. If buttons are pressed for over 12 seconds, an audible signal indicates an error (e.g., object on button, sensor failure), and the appliance switches off.
    • Over Temperature Switch Off: Monitors control unit temperature. If the hob heats to a very high temperature (e.g., incorrectly placed pot), it switches off to prevent damage and burning.
    • Operating Time Limitations: The hob control unit has a limited operating time. If the heat setting is not changed for a certain period, the heater automatically turns off ('0' displayed for 10 seconds, then residual heat). The limit depends on the selected heat setting.
    • Residual Heat Functions: After cooking, heat stored in the vitroceramic glass (residual heat) is indicated if the calculated temperature is above +60°C. This is shown in the corresponding heater display after the heater or hob control is turned off. If power is interrupted and reapplied, the residual heat display will flash until the heat time expires or the heater is selected and activated.
  • Service and Repair:
    • Maintenance and repair work must only be carried out by authorized service technicians. Unauthorized work is hazardous and voids the warranty.
    • In case of a damaged supply cord, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons.
    • Always use original spare parts.
  • Energy Saving Tips:
    • Use cookware with a flat base.
    • Use cookware of the proper size for the cooking zone.
    • Always use lids on cookware.
    • Minimize the amount of liquid or fat.
    • Reduce the heat setting once liquid starts boiling.
