In the event of a power failure during a firmware update or HDD failure, the machine may fail to “reboot”
because of corrupted firmware. To recover the MFP firmware, please refer to the following procedure:-
Firmware Recovery Procedure:-
1. Power off the MFP and remove the rear cabinet and
MFP PWB cover.
2. Set the MFP PWB DIP-SW1 on ON.
3. Install the USB Memory containing the MXM623-753N
firmware into the USB slot.
4. Power ON the MFP device (the boot menu should
appear after approx 10 seconds).
5. After VERSION CHECK: message appears, press
the [Menu] key to select the firmware update mode &
then select the [OK] key:-
6. Using the [UP] and [DOWN] keys, navigate and select
the required firmware SFU file .
Use the [OK] key when a directory name is selected to
browse through to the sub folder(s) or [BACK] key, to
return to the parent folder(s).
7. Press [OK]. – It will take approx. 1-2 minutes to read
the SFU file.
8. After reading is completed, the firmware update
(writing) will commence.
Note:
The abbreviated name/location of the firmware that
is being updated will appear in the upper right corner.
