Troubleshooting
The following are some of the common problems that arise when
attempting to connect to a remote system.
MODEM SET UP FAILED! PRESS [ENTER] message
Cause Incorrect baud rate.
Solution Press [ENTER], recall the terminal display, and correct the
SPEED.
or
Cause Cables or power cord are not properly connected.
Solution Check cables and power cord.
AUTO LOGON FAILED! PRESS [ENTER] message
Cause Incorrect auto-logon procedure has been specified.
Solution Press and correct the auto-logon settings in the
dialing directory.
DOWNLOAD FAILED! PRESS [ENTER] message
Cause There is insufficient memory for the download.
Solution Clear some memory to make room for the download.
UPLOAD FAILED! PRESS [ENTER] message
Cause The remote system was not ready to receive the data.
Solution Prepare the remote system.
or
Cause There is insufficient memory in the Organizer for the
operation.
Solution Clear some memory and try again.
NO CARRIER message after remote system answers call
Cause
Sending
and
receiving
modems
are
mismatched
or
there
is
a
phone
line
problem.
Solution Check the speeds of the modems are matched and try
again.
Remote
modem
answers
but
received
characters
are
garbled
Cause
Number
of
data
bits
and/or
parity
of
modems
are
mismatched or there is a phone line problem.
Solution Check the configuration data and try again.
