What to do if Siemens Engine motor connected but does not start?
- EElaine ElliottAug 17, 2025
If your Siemens Engine motor is connected but not starting, it could be due to several reasons. There might be no supply voltage, one phase could be open, or the voltage might be too low. The motor may be overloaded, the control gear could be defective, the starting torque might be too high, the rotor could be defective, there could be a short circuit to earth, or there might be a fault in the starter or star/delta switch. You should check the voltage on each phase, reduce the load, examine the control gear for bad contacts, change to a higher tap if using autotransformer starting, look for broken rings, check with a Megger, and inspect the contacts and connections of the starter or switch.
