Setting the water softening sys-
tem
1.
Press ⁠.
2.
To open the basic settings, press
for approx. 3seconds.

Press repeatedly until the display
shows "Water hardness".
4.
Press or repeatedly until the
right water hardness has been set.
5.
To save the settings, press for ap-
prox. 3seconds.
Adding special salt
To avoid damage to the appliance, only add special
salt to the dispenser for special salt just before the
programme starts.
1.
Unscrew the lid of the dispenser for special salt
and remove.
2.
On initial start-up: Fill the dispenser right up with
water.
3.
Add the special salt to the
dispenser. The water in the
dispenser is displaced and
forced out. Never add de-
tergent.
4.
Place the lid back on the dispenser and turn to
close.
Adding rinse aid
1.
Press the catch on the lid
of the dispenser for rinse
aid and lift ⁠.

How to use your appliance
1.
Load the tableware.
Only clean tableware that is suitable for dish-
washers. Remove large remnants of food from
the tableware. Check that the spray arms can ro-
tate freely.
2.
Add detergent.
3.
Switch on the appliance ⁠.
4.
Select the programme.
5.
Start the programme ⁠.
6.
Remove the tableware at the end of the pro-
gramme.
7.
To cancel the programme, press for
approx. 4seconds.
The programme is cancelled and ends after ap-
prox. 1minute.

The programme data has been meas-
ured in the laboratory according to
European standard EN60436.
The consumption figures depend on
the programme and additional func-
tion selected.
The runtime will change if the rinse
aid system is switched off or rinse aid
needs to be added.

Function Description

The dishwasher is designed to clean tableware efficiently. It features various programmes tailored for different cleaning needs, from intensive cleaning for heavily soiled items to quick washes and specialized programmes like "brilliantShine" for enhanced drying and shine, and "Silence 50°" for quiet operation. The appliance integrates with Home Connect, allowing users to manage settings and monitor programmes via a mobile device. Key functions include automatic detergent dispensing, adjustable water softening based on local water hardness, and a rinse aid system to ensure streak-free drying. The machine also includes a self-cleaning "Machine Care" programme to maintain optimal performance.

Usage Features

Setting up Home Connect: To begin, users need to install the Home Connect app on their mobile device and follow the in-app instructions. A QR code is provided in the manual for easy scanning to connect the appliance.

Setting Water Hardness: The dishwasher's water softening system needs to be adjusted according to the local water hardness to prevent limescale buildup and optimize cleaning results. The manual provides a table of water hardness ranges (Soft, Medium, Hard) and corresponding setting values (0-62). To set this, the user presses the 'i' button for approximately 3 seconds, then repeatedly presses '>' until "Water hardness" appears on the display. The correct hardness value is then selected using '+' or '-' buttons, and the setting is saved by pressing 'i' for 3 seconds.

Adding Special Salt: Special salt is crucial for the water softening system. To avoid damage, it should be added just before a programme starts. The user unscrews and removes the lid of the special salt dispenser. For initial start-up, the dispenser should be filled with water first. Then, special salt is added until the dispenser is full, displacing the water. Detergent should never be added to the special salt dispenser. Finally, the lid is replaced and turned to close.

Adding Rinse Aid: Rinse aid ensures streak-free drying and a brilliant shine. To add rinse aid, the user presses the catch on the lid of the rinse aid dispenser and lifts it. Rinse aid is then added up to the maximum mark. The lid is then closed, and it should click into position.

Adding Detergent: Detergent is added to the dry detergent dispenser. The manual shows a diagram indicating typical detergent quantities (e.g., 15ml, 25ml, 50ml). After adding the detergent, the lid of the dispenser is closed and should click into position.

Operating the Appliance:

1. Loading Tableware: Only dishwasher-safe tableware should be loaded. Large food remnants should be removed, and it's important to ensure that the spray arms can rotate freely.
2. Adding Detergent: As described above.
3. Switching On: The appliance is switched on.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning Filters: Filters should be checked for residue after each wash.

1. Turn the coarse filter anticlockwise and remove the filter system.
2. Pull down to remove the micro filter.
3. Press the locking catches together and lift out the coarse filter.
4. Clean all filter elements under running water.
5. Re-assemble the filter system, ensuring the arrow markings match up when inserting it back into the appliance and turning clockwise.

Cleaning Spray Arms: The spray arms should be checked for blockages to ensure effective water distribution.

1. Unscrew the upper spray arm and pull it down to remove.
2. Pull up the lower spray arm to remove.
3. Check the outlet nozzles on both spray arms for blockages and remove any foreign bodies under running water.
4. Insert the lower spray arm, ensuring it clicks into position.
5. Insert the upper spray arm and screw it firmly in place.

Cleaning Wastewater Pump: If the wastewater pump is blocked, it needs to be cleaned.

1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
2. Remove the filter system.
3. Scoop out any standing water.
4. Prise off the pump cover using a spoon and grip it by the crosspiece.
5. Lift the pump cover inwards at an angle and remove.
6. Remove any food remnants or foreign bodies from the impeller area.
7. Insert the pump cover and press it down until it clicks into position.
8. Install the filter system.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues:

• E:3200 or water supply indicator lights up: Indicates a kinked supply hose, closed water tap, jammed/furred water tap, or blocked filters in the water connection. Solutions involve checking and correcting these issues, including cleaning the filter in the supply hose.
• E:9240 lights up: Indicates soiled or blocked filters, requiring cleaning.
• E:6102 lights up: Indicates a blocked wastewater pump, requiring cleaning.
• Remnants of food on tableware: Possible causes include tableware placed too close together, blocked spray arm rotation, blocked spray arm nozzles, soiled filters, incorrectly inserted filters, or a washing programme that is too weak. Solutions involve rearranging tableware, cleaning spray arms and filters, and selecting a more intensive programme.
• Removable streaks on glasses/cutlery: Caused by too much rinse aid or no rinse aid. Solutions involve adjusting the rinse aid system or adding rinse aid.
• Rust spots on cutlery: Due to non-rust-resistant cutlery or washing with rusting items. Solution is to use rust-resistant tableware and avoid washing rusting items together.
• Detergent residue: Caused by blocked spray arms preventing detergent from rinsing out. Solution is to check and ensure spray arms can rotate freely.
• All LEDs light up or flash, or programme does not continue: Indicates an electronic fault. Solution is to reset the appliance by pressing the main switch button for approximately 4 seconds.
