8 Configuring NK8000
After you have installed the Danger Management System (DMS) and Composer,
you need to configure the DMS

Once that is done, you perform the NK8000 configuration procedures to get the
NK82xxs communicating with the Danger Management System.
For configuration details, see the DMS8000 Network, Fire & Intrusion Con-
nectivity Configuration Guide (document no.A6V10062425).
You should have all hardware installed at the client site (such as control units, all
cables, wiring, and so on) before you perform the procedures in this section.
8.1 Configuration checklist
Verify that you have satisfied the items needed in the first checklist before proceed-
ing to the configuration checklist that follows.

Service PC, with Cat. 5 crossed twisted pair cable (if configuring at client’s site)
NK8000 unit(s)

DMS Connectivity Guide (CG) Network Fire and Intrusion
DMS Connectivity Guides Access Control and Video Connectivity (if applicable)
Configuring NK8000
Configure the DMS and the NK8000 network with Composer (see ICC, CG).
Launch NW8202

Configure the NK82xx IP address(es) – via NW8202

Install the NK82xx, connect subsystems and network to NK82xx

Contact Service Centre to download configuration to the NK82xx from remote via
Composer. FTP or Secure download modes can be applied (see CG).
