Assignment of the port A and B sockets

Pin 7 also carries the RTS signal with RS 232 level when operated as
RS 485 interface. Pin 7 must therefore not be connected!
USB-DIGSI-Interface
The USB interface can be used to establish a connection between the
protection device and your PC. For the communication, the Microsoft
Windows USB driver is used which is installed together with DIGSI (as of
version V4.82). The interface is installed as a virtual serial COM port. We
recommend the use of standard USB cables with a maximum length of 5
m / 16 ft.
Port A
The Ethernet interface (RJ45) serves:
a) for DIGSI communication directly or via a network
b) for connection up to two RTD-Boxes directly or via switch (7SK80)
c) for DIGSI communication and connection of RTD-Boxes via switch
simultaneously (7SK80).
Port B
Port B serves:
a) as a system interface e.g. to transmit all device data to a central
evaluator or a control center. This interface may be provided with
various protocols and physical transmission schemes to suit the
particular application.
b) to connect up to two RTD-Boxes via RS 485 (7SK80)
c) for DIGSI communication.
