Overview

This document describes the SilverCrest SKM 600 A1 Stand Mixer, a kitchen appliance designed for processing foodstuffs in normal household quantities. It is intended for private use in enclosed, dry spaces and should not be used outdoors or for commercial purposes. The appliance must only be used with original accessories.

Function Description:

The stand mixer is equipped with a swivel arm (1) that can be raised or lowered using a release button (2). It features a rotary switch (3) for speed control and a drive shaft (7) where various attachments are mounted. The mixing bowl (6) is securely placed on the base (5) of the appliance. The mixer comes with three main attachments: a kneading hook (10) for heavy doughs like yeast dough, a whisk (11) for whipping cream or egg whites, and a beater (12) for mixing lighter batters such as cake batter or shortcrust pastry. A lid (9) with a filling accessory (8) is provided to prevent splashes and allow ingredients to be added during operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Input Voltage: 220-240 V~ (alternating current), 50-60 Hz
  • Power Consumption: 600 W
  • Protection Class: II / (double insulation)
  • Max. Capacity (Mixing Bowl): approx. 5 liters

The appliance is designed with an automatic safety cut-out to prevent overheating. If the appliance stops working due to overheating, the rotary switch (3) should be turned to "OFF," the plug removed from the wall socket, and the appliance allowed to cool for at least 15 minutes. If it still doesn't start, an additional 15 minutes of cooling may be needed. All parts of the appliance that come into contact with food are food-safe.

Usage Features:

Before first use, all parts should be unpacked, cleaned, and dried. The appliance should be placed on a flat, clean surface and secured with its suction cups. The power cable (4) must be connected to a correctly installed and earthed mains power socket, ensuring the local power supply matches the rating plate.

To operate, the release button (2) is pressed to raise the swivel arm (1). The mixing bowl (6) is then placed on the base (5) and rotated clockwise until it locks securely. The appropriate attachment (kneading hook (10), whisk (11), or beater (12)) is selected based on the task and mounted onto the drive shaft (7). The attachment is pushed firmly onto the drive shaft and rotated counter-clockwise until it locks. The swivel arm (1) is then lowered into the working position. The lid (9) with the filling accessory (8) can be attached to the mixing bowl (6). Ingredients are added to the mixing bowl, ensuring not to overfill it, as dough volume can increase during mixing. The rotary switch (3) is used to select the desired speed.

Speed Settings:

  • Level 1-3: Kneading hook (10) / Beater (12) - Suitable for kneading and mixing firm dough or stiffer ingredients.
  • Level 3-5: Beater (12) - Suitable for mixing thick batter, mixing butter and flour, mixing yeast dough, or mixing shortcrust pastry.
  • Level 3-4: Kneading hook (10) - Suitable for kneading yeast dough or thick batter.
  • Level 5-7: Beater (12) - Suitable for cake batter, whipping butter with sugar, or cookie dough.
  • Level 7-8: Whisk (11) - Suitable for whipping cream, egg whites, mayonnaise, or frothing butter.

Recommended operating times: For tasks involving the kneading hook (10), whisk (11), or beater (12), the appliance should be allowed to cool down after 10 minutes of operation to prevent overheating and damage.
