Descaling
If you use the appliance frequently, you should descale it once per month. In
regions where the tap water has an above-average hardness level, descaling at
shorter intervals may also be warranted.
Proceed as follows for descaling:
♦ Put the appliance into a suitable pot, bearing in mind the information found
in Section Preparing the appliance, fill the pot with water and measure
the quantity used. The water level must be on the "Max" marking.
♦ Program an operating process with 80°C and a time of 20 minutes once
the target temperature is reached.
♦ For every 4 litres of used water, add 1/4 table cup of citric acid powder
into the water.
♦ Start the operating process. After it has ended, disconnect the plug and
allow the appliance to cool down. As the last step, rinse the appliance
under cold running water. Before stowing it away, thoroughly dry off the
appliance.
Storage
♦ Let the appliance cool down completely before putting it away.
♦ Store the appliance in a dry location.
