SYSTEM OPERATIONS-31
FRESH WATER SYSTEM
The purpose of the Fresh Water System
is to provide a supply of pressurized po-
table hot and cold water to the appliances
on demand and as needed.
WATER SOURCE
Your 43SB has two (2) separate sources
that supply cold water to your system:
Fresh Water Pump System
Dockside Water Supply System
Fresh Water Pump System
The Fresh Water Pump System on your
43SB would be the water system that
supplies water when underway. The water
source is Water Tanks and a Water Pump.
Fresh Water Tanks
(118 gallon capacity):
The fresh water tanks are located in the
engine room of your 43SB. There are two
(2) tanks (59 gallons each). The photo be-
low shows the starboard fresh water tank.
The Mechanical Schematic in the SCHE-
MATICS SECTION of this manual shows
the location of the fresh water tanks. They
are lled through a ll tting that is marked
“WATER” on the ll cap, which is located
on the starboard side of the cockpit. The
photo below shows the water ll.
The Deck Layout in the Schematics Sec-
tion of this manual will show the location
of the Fresh Water Fill.
Fill the fresh water tank ONLY with
potable water that is safe for drinking.
DO NOT ll with water that may be of
questionable quality as serious illness
or death may occur.
Fresh Water Pump:
The fresh water pump is located in the en-
gine room, starboard side. The fresh water
pump operates on DC Electrical Power
controlled by a breaker switch located on
the DC Electrical Panel. The fresh water
pump is equipped with an automatic pres-
sure switch and when it is supplied with
electrical power, it will operate until the en-
tire fresh water system is pressurized to a
preset level. Once the required pressure is
obtained, the fresh water pump will auto-
matically shut off. The fresh water system
should maintain the preset level of water
pressure until one of the faucet or shower
valves is opened. When the required pres-
sure is lowered below the preset level, the
fresh water pump will automatically return
to operation.
