What to do if my Simplicity Cobalt 2690479 Lawn Mower engine will not turnover or start?
- AAudrey KennedyAug 21, 2025
If your Simplicity Lawn Mower engine won't turnover or start, make sure the parking brake is engaged and the PTO (electric clutch) switch is in the OFF position. Check if you're out of fuel; if so, let the engine cool before refilling. If the engine is flooded, move the choke control to the closed position. Also, inspect the fuse and replace if blown. Clean the battery terminals if they're dirty, and recharge or replace the battery if it's discharged or dead. Look for loose or broken wiring, and repair or tighten as needed. If the solenoid, starter motor, or safety interlock switch is faulty, or if the spark plug(s) are faulty, you may need professional assistance. Drain and replace the fuel if there's water in it or if the gas is old.
