2. Install the lower lift links to the hitch on the right side.
3. Attach the sway chains (E)to the front of the sway arms
with capscrews and locknuts.
4. Cross the chains and secure them to the back of the
sway arms with clevis pins and retaining clips.
5. Attach one end of the upper lift link (F, Figure17) to the
hitch assembly (B)with a clevis pin (C)and a safety
clip(D).
6. Install the clevis pin with a safety clip to the other end
(G)of the upper lift link.
Removal
1. Remove the upper left link (F, Figure17) by removing the
clevis pins(C) and safety clips (D). Set parts aside for
installation.

2. Remove the clevis pins (C, Figure16) and retaining clips
(D)from back of the sway arms.
3. Remove the capscrews, locknuts, and sway chains (E).
Setpartsasidefor installation.
4. Remove the lower lift links, pins, clips, and sway
arm (A)from the hitch assembly. Setpartsasidefor
installation.
Lock the 3-Point Hitch
The 3-Point Hitch can be locked in the raised position. When
a rear attachment is locked in the raised position, the on-
board hydraulic cylinder can be used to lift mid mounted
attachments without having to remove the rear attachment.
For example, if a tractor equipped with a tiller is to be used for
mowing, the tiller can be locked in the raised position allowing
the mower to be installed and used.
1. Pull back on the attachment lift control lever to raise the
attachment.
2. Remove the locking rod from storage position(A,
Figure18). Install it below the hitch arms in the locking
position (B) with a retaining clip (C).

Refer to the Attachment Operator’s Manual to install the
correct attachment. Make sure to set the parking brake during
attachment operation.
Connecting a Drive Shaft
1. Disengage the PTO, set the parking brake, stop the
engine, and wait for all moving parts to stop.
2. Pull back on the locking collar (A, Figure19), and move
the socket onto the PTO as far as it will go.
3. Pull back on the drive shaft until the locking collar snaps
into place. Make sure that the connection is secure.
