OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
0-5000 VOLT D.C. RANGE ONLY.
WARNING: Be extremely careful when working in high
voltage circuits. Do not touch the meter or test
leads while power is on in the circuit being
measured,

Set the function switch at +D.C.
Set the range selector switch at 5000 V.
Connect the black test lead into the COMMON-
jack and the red test lead into the D.C.
5000 V, jack.
Be sure that power is off in the circuit to be
measured and that all capacitors have been dis-
charged. Connect. the black test lead to the
negative side of the circuit to be measured and
the red test lead to the positive side.
Turn on the power in the circuit. Do not touch
the meter or test leads. If the pointer de-
flects to the left side of zero, the antici-
pated polarity is opposite the actual circuit
polarity. Turn off the power in the circuit
being tested. Set the function switch at -D.C.,
and turn on the power again. This will correct
the polarity and the meter pointer will deflect
to the right.
Head the voltage using the 0-50 figures on the
black arc which is second from the top of the
scale, Multiply the reading by 100.
Turn off the power before disconnecting the
test leads.
