FROM
THE
NEEDLE
To
prevent
the
point
of
the
sewing
hook
from
dividing
the
strands
of
thread,
the
hook
should
run
as
close
to
the
needle
(within
the
scarf)
as
possible,
with¬
out
actually
touching
the
needle.

and

After
setting,
push
hook
post
to
back
edge
of
slot
in
bed

THE

Be
sure
needle
bar
is
set
at
correct
height.
Turn
machine
pulley
over
toward
operator

til
needle
bar
rises
from
its
lowest
position
and
the
lower
timing
mark

just
visible
at
the
lower
end
of
needle
bar
bushing.
The
point
of
the
sew¬
ing
hook
should
then
be
at
the
center
of
the
needle
approximately
1/16
inch
above
the
eye.
To
time
the
sewing
hook,
first
remove
base
cover
plates,
slide
plate,
throat
plate
and
bobbin
case
cap
for
clearer
view
of
hook.
Then
remove
screw

Through
the
hole
left
in
the
bed,
locate
set
screws
C2
and
D2
in
hub
of
gear.
Loosen
set
screw
D2
first.
Then
turn
machine
pulley
1/4
turn
away
from
operator
and
loosen
set
screw
C2.

set
hook
to
position
previously
described,
then
tighten
screws
D2
and
C2.
Replace
screw
B2.
TO
ADJUST
SIDEWISE
POSITION
OF
FEED
WHEEL
The
feed
wheel
should
never
touch
the
sides
of
the
throat
plate
slot,
but
should
be
in
sidewise
align¬
ment
with
the
roller
presser.

The
feed
wheel
should
be
set
so
that
slightly
less
than
the
full
depth
of
the
teeth
project
through
the
feed
wheel
slot
in
the
throat
plate.
The
height
of
the
feed
wheel
is
regulated
by
eccentric
stud

To
raise
or
lower
the
feed
wheel,
loosen
the
set
screws
H2
and
J2
and
turn
eccen¬
tric
stud
G2
to
the
right
or
left
until
the
feed
wheel
is
at
the
desired
height,
then
securely
tighten
the
set
screws

J2.

rate

clamping
