A narrow zig-zag stitch is ideal for
seaming knit fabrics . It is particu-
larly desirable for underarm
seams
where elasticity and give are needed .
However, where a stay is needed to
prevent undue stretching at neck-
line and waistline seams, this same
stitch can be used to apply seam
tape . For a flat,
smooth stayed finish

If seam is curved, pre-shape tape
to fit by steam pressing .
2 . Baste tape in place .

Stitch, allowing needle to enter
seam tape and seam allowance
