Starting a Seam
1 .
Set
stitch length selector for de-
sired number of stitches per
inch .
2 . With presser foot up, align fab-
ric with appropriate seam guide-
line on throat plate (as described
on the following page) . Position
needle in fabric about r/ . inch
from the
edge .
3 . Lower presser foot and
raise
stitch length selector to reverse .
4 . Backstitch to edge of fabric
for
reinforcement .
5 . Lower stitch length selector for
forward stitching, and stitch .
