Overview

The SinoTrack GPS Tracker is a device designed for locating and monitoring remote targets using existing GSM/GPRS networks and GPS satellites. It supports tracking via SMS, a dedicated mobile application, and a web platform, leveraging advanced GPS and AGPS dual positioning technology. The manual details three models: ST-905, ST-915, and ST-925, which vary primarily in size, weight, and battery capacity.

Function Description:

The core function of the SinoTrack GPS Tracker is to provide real-time location information. Users can obtain the device's position by calling its SIM card number or sending an SMS command ("6690000"). The device will respond with a Google Maps link showing its current location, along with details like date, time, ID, speed, and battery percentage. Beyond basic tracking, the device offers several alarm functions:

  • Over-speed Alarm: When the unit's speed exceeds a predefined limit (e.g., 70km/h), it sends "speed alarm!" messages to the admin number every 5 minutes. This feature can be set and canceled via SMS commands (e.g., 1220000070 to set for 70km/h, 12200000 to cancel).
  • Shake Alarm: If the tracker is stationary for 5 minutes and then experiences a shock, it sends "Shock alarm!" SMS messages to the admin and SOS numbers. This is enabled with 1810000T10 and canceled with 1810000T0.
  • Take-off Alarm (Anti-removal): The device has an anti-removal induction sensor on its back. If this sensor is no longer covered, it will send "Take off Alarms!" to the admin and SOS numbers. This feature is on by default and can be controlled with TAKEOFF0000 1 (enable) and TAKEOFF0000 0 (disable).
  • Low Battery Alarm: The device sends alerts to the admin number when the battery is low.

The tracker also supports a Voice Monitor function, allowing the admin number to send a command (66) to the tracker, which will then call back the control number, enabling remote listening.

  • Working Modes: The device offers three working modes to optimize battery life:
    • WORK (Keep working mode): The tracker continuously works and sends data at a set time interval (e.g., 7 days per 10000mAh). Command: WORK0000.
    • MOVE (Work when moving): The factory default mode. The tracker only works when it is moving. When stopped, it enters a sleep state with GPS shut off and GSM in low consumption mode. Vibration, SMS commands, or calling the tracker can wake it up for 5 minutes (e.g., 30 days per 10000mAh). Command: MOVE0000.
    • STANDBY (SMS or Call to tracker): In this mode, GPS is shut off, and GSM works in low consumption. The tracker wakes up for 5 minutes upon receiving an SMS or call (e.g., 120 days per 10000mAh). Command: STANDBY0000.
  • Online Tracking: The device can be tracked via the web platform www.sinotrackpro.com or through the "SinoTrack PRO" mobile application (available on iOS and Android). Users log in using the tracker's 10-digit ID number and a default password of 123456.
  • APN and Server Settings: To enable online tracking, the correct APN (Access Point Name) for the SIM card carrier must be configured via SMS (e.g., 8030000 internet or 8030000 APN APNuser APNpassword). The server IP and port are also set via SMS (e.g., 8040000 45.112.204.245 8090).
  • Time Zone Setting: The local time zone can be set via SMS (e.g., 8960000E00 for GMT 0, 8960000E01 for GMT +1).
  • Read Configuration Data: The RCONF command provides a summary of the tracker's current settings, including ID, password, control numbers, work mode, alarm statuses, APN, IP, port, GPRS upload time, and time zone.

Maintenance Features:

  • Reset Hardware: The device can be reset via an SMS command (RESET).
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive FAQ section to address common issues such as failure to turn on, no GSM signal, no GPS signal, no SMS reply, incorrect admin number, and discrepancies in platform position. Solutions often involve checking battery charge, SIM card installation, GSM network status, PIN code, call diversion, power voltage, APN settings, and ensuring an open sky for GPS signal reception.
  • Device Integrity: Users are advised not to assemble or disassemble the device at will to ensure proper functioning and maintain warranty.
  • SIM Card Requirements: It's crucial to ensure the GSM SIM card supports making calls, sending messages, and GPRS network, has sufficient balance, and has call shows opened with call transfer turned off.
