is
properly secured.
1.
Open hood.
2.
Pull
out both belt guard retaining
pins.
3.
Lift and remove the belt guard.

Drive Belt Removal
and
Installation
A WARNING: Never start or
run
T engine without the drive belt in-
stalled. Running
an
unloaded engine
is
dangerous.
1.
Open hood and remove belt guard.
2.
Open the driven pulley
by
twisting
and pushing the sliding half. Hold
in
fully open position.

3. Slip the belt over the top edge of the
fixed half,
as
shown.

Slip the belt
out
from the drive pul-
ley
and remove from the vehicle.

To
install the drive belt, reverse the pro-
cedure, however
pay
attention to the fol-
lowing:
Maximum drive belt life span
is
achiev-
ed
when belt runs
in
the same direction.
Always install drive belt
so
printed infor-
mation can
be
read
when facing pulleys.
