Overview

The Slime Tire Inflator is a portable device designed for inflating tires and other inflatables, featuring an easy-to-read digital display and several user-friendly features.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Slime Tire Inflator is to inflate tires to a desired pressure. It incorporates "INFLATE RIGHT™ TECHNOLOGY," which allows the inflator to automatically shut off once the preset pressure level is achieved, ensuring perfect pressure with every use and preventing overinflation. The device is suitable for use with 12-volt DC power outlets rated 15 amps or higher, making it compatible with most modern vehicle power accessory outlets. It is not recommended for use with older 8 amp cigarette lighter receptacles. In addition to tire inflation, the inflator comes with adapters for inflating balls and other inflatables, expanding its utility beyond just vehicle tires.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Source: 12-volt DC power outlet, requiring a minimum rating of 15 amps.
  • Power Cord Length: 10 feet (3 meters).
  • Air Hose Length: 2 feet (0.6 meters).
  • Display: Easy-read digital display showing pressure in PSI, kPa, and BAR.
  • Operating Time: Do not use continuously for more than 10 minutes. Allow approximately 25 minutes for cooling between uses.
  • Safety Features: Automatic shut-off at preset pressure, bright light for illumination, and a separate light switch.
  • Fuse: Located in the plug adaptor, typically 15 amps minimum.

Usage Features:

  1. Setting Pressure: To set the desired pressure, hold the "+" or "-" button for approximately 5 seconds until the display flashes. Use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the pressure, then wait 2-3 seconds for the display to show the set value.
  2. Connecting to Tire: Screw the air hose connector completely onto the tire's air valve stem to ensure proper inflation and prevent air leaks.
  3. Powering On: Plug the power cord into a 12-volt power accessory outlet.
  4. Starting Inflation: Push the ON/OFF button to start the inflator.
  5. Automatic Shut-off: The inflator will automatically stop when the pressure gauge reaches the pre-set value, and the display will show "OFF."
  6. Manual Override: The ON/OFF button can be used to override the present pressure value if needed.
  7. Bright Light: The device includes a bright light to illuminate the tire and surrounding area, useful for nighttime or low-light conditions. There is a separate light switch for controlling the light independently of the compressor.
  8. Portability: The compact design and included adapters make it versatile for various inflation needs.
  9. Safety Precautions:
    • Do not hold the compressor in hand while operating; place it on a hard, clean surface.
    • Do not run the vehicle while the compressor is operating; the engine must be turned OFF.
    • Always use a pressure gauge to check actual tire pressure to avoid overinflation.
    • Do not leave the compressor unattended during operation.
    • Keep the inflator out of reach of children.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cooling Down: If the inflator runs slowly due to overheating from excessive use, shut it off and allow it to cool for 25 minutes before resuming use.
  • Checking Connections: Ensure the connector is fully seated on the valve stem.
  • Inspecting for Leaks: Regularly check the tire for leaks and the air hose for breaks or leaks at fittings.
  • Power Plug and Receptacle: If the inflator does not turn on, push the power plug firmly into the receptacle and twist it back and forth. Check both the receptacle and plug terminals for dirt (especially tobacco) and clean them with a non-conductive probe if necessary.
  • Fuse Replacement: If the inflator still doesn't turn on, the fuse in the plug adaptor may have blown. Unscrew the tip of the plug adaptor, remove the fuse, and inspect it. Replace it with a fuse of the same amperage if needed.
  • Battery Voltage: If the inflator runs slowly, check the condition of the vehicle's battery, as low voltage can affect performance.
  • Deflated Tires: If a tire is completely deflated and separates from the rim, causing air to leak out during inflation, it may be necessary to jack up the tire prior to inflation to reseat it.

The Slime Tire Inflator is designed for ease of use and reliability, backed by a satisfaction guarantee and limited warranty from Accessories Marketing, Inc. For questions or comments, customers can call 888-45-SLIME or visit www.slime.com.
