LIMITED WARRANTY

Unless otherwise noted, Sloan Valve Company warrants this product, manufactured and sold for commercial or industrial uses, to be free from defects in material and workmanship

for a period of three (3) years (1 year for SF faucets, special finish and PWT electronics and 30 days on PWT software) from date of first purchase. During this period, Sloan Valve

Company will, at its option, repair, replace, or refund the purchase price of any product which fails to conform with this warranty under normal use and service. This shall be the sole

and exclusive remedy under this warranty. Products must be returned to Sloan Valve Company, at customer’s cost. No claims will be allowed for labor, transportation or other costs.

This warranty extends only to persons or organizations who purchase Sloan Valve Company’s products directly from Sloan Valve Company for purpose of resale. This warranty does

not cover the life of the battery.

THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE HEREOF. IN NO EVENT IS SLOAN VALVE COMPANY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES

This document provides installation instructions and technical specifications for Sloan Optima Sensor Activated Lavatory Faucets, which are designed for commercial and industrial use. The faucets are paired with an Optima Control Box, available in different configurations, and some models can also be used with Sloan Deck Mounted Soap Dispensers (ESD-Series).

Function Description:

The Sloan Optima Sensor Activated Lavatory Faucets are touch-free faucets designed to provide water flow upon sensor activation, promoting hygiene and water conservation. The faucets utilize an infrared (IR) sensor to detect user presence, triggering a solenoid valve to release water. Different models are available for deck-mounted and wall-mounted installations, and some include side sensors for enhanced detection. The Optima Control Box, which houses the solenoid valve, power supply (battery or hardwired), and sensor connections, manages the faucet's operation. Some control boxes incorporate turbines for specific flow rates (0.5 GPM / 1.9 LPM or 1.5 GPM / 5.7 LPM), while others without turbines can be used with spouts up to 2.2 GPM / 8.3 LPM. The system can be powered by four (4) AA batteries, a 6 VDC plug-in transformer with battery backup, or 24 VAC hardwiring.

The Sloan Deck Mounted Soap Dispensers (ESD-Series) are touch-free counter-mounted systems designed to dispense soap automatically. They are typically installed alongside the faucets, offering a complete hands-free washing experience. The dispenser system consists of a spout assembly, a motor assembly/bottle support, a battery box, and a refillable soap bottle.

Power Options: Four (4) AA alkaline batteries, 6 VDC plug-in transformer with battery backup, or 24 VAC hardwired.

- EFP-39-A: Control Box w/o Turbine (for spouts up to 2.2 GPM / 8.3 LPM).
- EFP-40-A: Control Box w/ 0.5 GPM Turbine (for spouts rated for 0.5 GPM / 1.9 LPM).
- EFP-11-A: Control Box w/ 1.5 GPM Turbine (for spouts rated for 1.5 GPM / 5.7 LPM).
Sensor Range: Adjustable from 1 to 5 units (1 being closest, 5 being farthest), with a factory default of 3.

Sloan Deck Mounted Soap Dispenser (ESD-Series):

Mounting Hole Diameter: 15/16" to 1-1/4" (if existing) or 1" (if drilling new).
Batteries: Four (4) "D" Cell batteries (provided).
Refill Bottle: Sold separately (1500 ml or 2300 ml Green Certified Foam Refill).

Usage Features:

Faucets:

Touch-Free Operation: Activated by an infrared sensor for hygienic use.
Adaptive Sensing Calibration: The faucet initiates a 60-second calibration program upon activation.
Adjustable Sensor Range: Allows customization of detection distance to suit different environments and prevent unintended activation.
Power Flexibility: Can operate on batteries for easy installation or be hardwired for continuous power, with battery backup for hardwired units.
Mixing Valve Compatibility: Can be used with Sloan mixing valves (mechanical or thermostatic) for temperature control.
Quick Connect Filter Tee: A required component for connecting to water supplies, available in single or double inlet configurations.
Daisy Chain Configuration: Multiple units can be ganged to a single power supply using the SFP35 gang adapter kit.
LED Indicator: A green LED on the control module indicates battery status and sensor range settings.
Smartphone APP Compatibility: The Sloan SmartPhone APP (available for iOS and Android) can be used to check battery strength, troubleshoot, diagnose, and report faucet issues wirelessly.

Soap Dispensers:

Touch-Free Dispensing: Activated by a sensor for hygienic soap delivery.
Easy Refill System: Designed for quick and clean replacement of soap cartridges. The bottle is not designed to be refilled manually; new bottles must be used.
Flexible Installation: Can be mounted on counters with existing holes or new drilled holes, ensuring clearance for under-counter components.
Battery Operated: Uses "D" cell batteries for power, providing flexibility in installation location.

Maintenance Features:

Faucets:

Battery Replacement: Easy access to the battery compartment for replacing four (4) AA alkaline batteries.
Filter Tee Cleaning: Inlet fitting filter can be removed, cleaned, and reinserted to address slow flow or dribble. Replacement kits (EBF1004) are available.
Aerator/Spray Head Cleaning: Aerator or spray head can be removed, cleaned, and reinserted to resolve flow issues.
Solenoid Valve Maintenance: Solenoid filter can be removed, cleaned, and reinserted to address continuous dripping or dirty valve seats. The solenoid valve module (EFP43A) can be replaced if not working properly.
Sensor Range Adjustment: Manual adjustment of the sensor range using the "Sensor" button on the control box.
Cleaning: Use only mild soap and water with a clean cloth or towel. Abrasive or chemical cleaners (including chlorine bleach) should be avoided as they can damage the finish and attack chrome. Protect the faucet from cleaning fluids used on bathroom tiles.

Soap Dispensers:

Soap Cartridge Replacement: Empty soap bottles are easily replaced with new refill cartridges.
Battery Replacement: The battery box cover can be removed to replace the four (4) "D" cell batteries.
Cleaning: Use only mild soap and water to clean the spout. Cover the sensor window with a thumb while cleaning to prevent dispensing. Abrasive cleaners should be avoided to prevent damage to the finish or sensor window.
Troubleshooting: Instructions are provided for issues such as no soap dispensing (checking cable connections, batteries, and proper cover positioning) and multi-activating (checking bent contact pins).
