9 Returning and Disposing of the Defective Assembly

Procedure:
1. If the defective assembly is to be returned, pack the defective assembly for shipment. Use the
original packaging for this, or packaging that is suitable for the weight and size of the
assembly. In addition, ensure that the ESD protection of the assembly is guaranteed (e.g., by
wrapping the assembly with an ESD foil). For this purpose, the packaging of the new assembly
can be used. Organize the return shipment to SMA Solar Technology AG. Contact the
Service.
2. If the assembly is not to be returned, dispose of the assembly in accordance with the locally
applicable disposal regulations for waste electrical and electronic equipment.
