What is IPv6?

Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) is a version of the
Internet Protocol that is the successor of Internet Protocol
version 4 (IPv4) which is the current Internet Protocol in
operation since 1981

Mainly introduced to expand the internet address space
available (128-bit addresses compared to 32-bit addresses
of IPv6)
