Safety Instructions

General Comments

Starting Up

Fill Water Container

Fill the water container with cold water up to 3 litres and press home firmly. Close the cover.

Connect to Power

Pull out the required cord length and connect the appliance to an earthed socket.

Turn Main Switch ON

Turn the main switch ON. The appliance must now be vented and rinsed out.

Vent the Appliance

Place a container under the nozzle, turn knob, activate pump switch until water streams out.

Rinse the Appliance

Fit empty filter holder, place cup underneath, turn pump switch on until cup is full.

Appliance Ready Indicator

The appliance is ready when the temperature light shows green. Keep filter holder in place.

Making Coffee with Ground Coffee

Prepare Filter Holder

Fit the appropriate filter (one-cup or two-cup) into the filter holder.

Insert Filter Holder

Insert the filter holder into the brewing unit by moving from left to right and close tightly.

Place Cups

Place one or two cups on the tray under the filter holder. Adjust tray height if needed.

Pour Coffee

Activate the pump switch. Coffee will be poured. Turn off the switch when the cup is full.

Making Coffee with Portions

Using Portion Filters

Use the special portion-filter insert for 'hard' portion bags.

Using 1 or 2 Cup Filters

Use 1 or 2 cup filters for 'soft' SOLIS portions or other brand name portions.

Making Hot Water

Dispense Hot Water

Place cup under nozzle, turn knob and activate pump switch. Hot water runs automatically.

Stop Hot Water

After pouring, close the rotary switch and turn off the pump switch.

Making Steam

Activate Steam

Activate the steam switch and wait until the temperature light shows green.

Steam Heating Process

Turn knob slightly to run out condensed water, then immerse steam jet in liquid to heat.

Stop Steam

Turn the rotary switch off. Swing the steam nozzle back. Turn off the steam switch.

Venting After Steam

Turn steam switch off, turn knob, activate pump switch to vent/cool until steady stream.

Pre-heating the Cups

Warm Cups on Plate

Place cups on the storage plate to be kept warm by radiation.

Heat Cups with Hot Water

Rinse cups with hot water from the hot water nozzle for quick heating.

Care and Cleaning

Daily and Weekly Care

Clean water container, drip tray, cup tray, filter holder, and filter inserts with hot water.

Brewing Unit Cleaning

Remove coffee residues regularly and wipe with a damp cloth. Run hot water through.

Filter Inserts Cleaning

Rinse filter inserts to keep them clean. Run pump with water through filter holder.

Housing Cleaning

Clean the housing with a damp cloth and then rub dry with a cloth.

Decalcifying

Decalcifying Frequency

Decalcify regularly based on water hardness, at least every four to six months.

Recommended Decalcifier

Use SOLIPOL, a product specially designed for decalcification.

Decalcifying Procedure

Mix SOLIPOL with water, run through appliance, repeat, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water.

Trouble-shooting

Coffee Leaks from Filter Holder

Check filter holder fitting, tightness, coffee residues on edge, or seal damage.

Pump Noise Issues

Check water container level and fitting; ensure coffee is not too old or coarsely ground.

No Coffee Dispensing

Verify water, container fitting, coffee grind, steam setting, blockages, or venting.

Foam/Pouring Issues

Check coffee blend, grind, freshness, amount, tamping, cup temperature, or heating.

Useful Tips for Coffee

Optimum Coffee Conditions

Use fresh coffee, store properly, grind to espresso grade, and use filtered water if needed.

Using Coffee Portions

Try SOLIS portions for consistent good coffee without frequent grounds cleaning.
