Problem Solution
No RS-232 communication with an a) Is the external device ON?
external device b) Is the external device connected with the proper RS-232 cable? Check the
configuration of the external device’s RS-232 port. The DAB1’s RS-232 pin
configuration is:
PPiinn 22 == RReecceeiivvee ((RRxx)),, ppiinn 33 == TTrraannssmmiitt ((TTxx)),, PPiinn 55 == GGrroouunndd ((GGnndd))

c) Are the ‘baud rate’ and ‘format’ of the external device properly configured?
See page 40.
d) Is the external device properly configured to send/receive?
e) Are the ASCII text serial commands programmed in Sonance Control
Manager correct? See pages 43 – 44.
f) If using Hex commands, be sure the Macro Editor screen’s H
EX MODE button
is pressed before inputting the Hex command. See page 43.
g) If the DAB1 is being serial-controlled by the external device, make sure that
all DAB1 macros are purged of all RS-232 commands. See page 53.

The USB connection gives a a) Disconnect and re-connect the USB cable from the DAB1 and/or the
Windows error: D
EVICE NOT DETECTED computer.
b) Re-install the USB driver in the computer.
c) Confirm that you have made the proper computer Com Port selection and
connection.
d) Unplug the USB cable from the DAB1, select D
OWNLOAD T
O DEVICE on the
Sonance Control Manager and then re-connect the USB cable to the DAB1.
