      If you are experiencing no RS232 communication with an external device on your Sonance stereo system, ensure the external device is turned on and connected with a DB9 Null cable (the DAB1 RS232 Port is configured as ‘Null’, so check the configuration of the external device port). Verify that the external device is properly configured to send/receive, that the ASCII text commands in Program Manager are correct, and that the baud rate and format are properly configured.

      If the DAB1 remote is not controlling the DAB1 Sonance stereo system, verify that the zone to be controlled from the front panel of the DAB Controller is selected in Program Manager under Device>General Setup. If that doesn't work, remove the batteries from the remote, wait approximately 10 seconds, and then reinstall them, using only alkaline batteries. Also, try to keep the remote off static surfaces like carpet or rugs.

      If Keypad or Remote volume up/down commands change volume in all sub-zones when using an external multi-channel amplifier for sub-zone expansion with your Sonance stereo system, ensure the specific Zone variable/fixed output switch is in the fixed (in) position. Also, be sure the Zone volume is set to its appropriate maximum volume in Program Manager to achieve the proper audio level in sub-zones.

      If IR commands are not being routed to specific source components of your Sonance stereo system, ensure that the emitters are plugged into Programmed IR jacks. Also, verify that IR commands are programmed to output from a specific port in Macro Editor. Note that Programmed IR cannot be used in expanded systems (multiple DAB Controllers).

      If the tuner on your Sonance stereo system does not select appropriate stations for U.S./European frequencies, hold down the select button on the front panel for approximately 10 seconds until the system menu appears. Then, select U.S./European mode by pushing the up/down arrow once, and then push the power button. You may also check the configuration in Program Manager Tuner Setup.
