About water resistancy
This unit is designed for use in a marine
environment. To protect the unit from water spray,
waves, rain, moisture, ultraviolet rays, etc., the unit
has undergone the following tests to ensure
reliability and functionality (Front panel only):
Water resistant front panel - IPx5 certified
Salt fog resistant - Tested under ASTM B117
Conformal coated circuit board
UV resistant - Tested under ASTM G154
Notes
Be sure to close the front panel to maintain water
resistant performance, except when inserting/
ejecting a disc.
Do not allow water to contact the unit except the
front panel.
Do not use this unit in the following places:
places where the unit may be subject to high water
pressure, hot springs or bathtubs, etc.
underwater.
Getting Started
Playable discs on this unit
This unit can play CD-DA (also containing CD
TEXT) and CD-R/CD-RW (MP3/WMA/AAC
files (page 23)).
Resetting the unit
Before operating the unit for the first time, or
after replacing the boat’s battery or changing the
connections, you must reset the unit.
Open the front panel (page 14) and press the
RESET button (page 8) with a pointed object,
such as a ball-point pen.
Note
Pressing the RESET button will erase the clock setting
and some stored contents.
Canceling the DEMO mode
You can cancel the demonstration display which
appears during turning off.
1 Press and hold (SELECT/ENTER).
The setup display appears.
2 Press (SEL ECT/ENTER ) repeatedly until
“DEMO” appears.
3 Rotate the control dial to select
“DEMO-OFF.
4 Press and hold (SELECT/ENTER).
The setup is complete and the display returns
to normal play/reception mode.
