SonyofCanadaLtd.("Sony") herebywarrants,subjectto theterms andcondi-
tions hereinsetforth, this product againstdefectsin materialand workman-
shipduringthespecifiedwarrantyperiod,in the eventofa defectof materialor
workmanshipduringthe specifiedwarranty period, Sonywill repairthe same,
effectingall necessarypartsreplacementswith eithernew orrefurbishedparts,
without chargefor eitherparts or labour.
Thewarrantyperiodisas follows:
LabourandParts:ONEyear from the dateof original purchaseat retail.
Conditions:
UnauthorizedModification,Repair,Abuse,Etc.:
This limitedwarranty isvoid if: (i) the unit hasbeenpreviouslyaltered,modi-
fied, installedor mountedfor commercialuse,or repairedor servicedby any-
one other than the service facilities authorizedby Sonyto rendersuch ser-
vices,(ii) theserialnumberontheunit hasbeenalteredor removed,or (iii)the
unit hasbeensubjectto accident,misuse,abuseor operatedcontraryto the
instructions containedin the Owner'sManual. Theopinion of Sony with re-
spectto this matter shall befinal.
CommercialUse or Rental
This product is not intendedfor commercialuseor rental.Shouldthis unit be
usedatanytime for commercialpurposesor asa rentalunit,the limitedwar-
ranty period for parts and labour shall be 90 days from the date of original
purchaseat retail.Theopinionof Sonywith respecttothis matter shallbefinal.
Exclusions:
Thislimitedwarranty doesnot extendto brokenor damagedcabinets,acces-
sories, batteries,exposedantennasand styluses,or to parts wearingout due
to normalwear andtear.This limitedwarrantydoesnot cover regularproduct
maintenancesuchascleaning,lubricationor check-ups.
Thislimitedwarrantycoversonlythehardwarecomponentspackagedwiththe
product.It doesnot covertechnicalassistancefor hardwareor softwareusage
and it doesnot coverany softwareproducts whether or not containedin the
product.Anysuchsoftwareis provided"AS iS" unlessexpresslyprovidedfor
in anyenclosedsoftwarelimitedwarranty.Pleaserefertothe EndUserLicense
Agreementsincludedwith the productfor your rights andobligationswith re-
spectto thesoftware.
Thislimitedwarrantyis validonly in Canada.

ties in Canada,or shipped,freight prepaid,in either its original packageor
similar packageaffording anequal degreeof protectionand with instructions
indicatingalocationwithin Canadatowhich theunitmaybereturned,if shipped
to the service facility, the repairedunit will be returnedto customerfreight
prepaid.Allaccessoriesthat areenclosedwith the unitmust belisted individu-
allyon thepackingslip for the shippingdocumentation.Defectiveaccessories
should beshippedto Sonyas a separaterepairitem. Sonyshatlhaveno liabil-
ity whatsoeverfor loss or damageintransit of itemsshippedto servicefacili-
ties.Anypartsreplacedunderthis limitedwarrantywill becomethepropertyof
Sony.it isyourresponsibilityto backupany data,softwareor othermated-
aJsyoumayhavestored or preservedonyourunit.it islikely thatsuchdata,
software, or othermaterials wiBbe lostor reformatted duringservice and
SonywUlnotbe responsiblefor anysuchdamageor Joss.

Thislimitedwarranty appliesto theproductfrom the originaldateof purchase
