Overview

This document describes the Stereo Bluetooth™ Headset SBH20, a portable accessory designed to manage phone calls and play music wirelessly from a Bluetooth™-enabled device.

Function Description

The SBH20 headset allows users to control incoming and outgoing phone calls while simultaneously listening to stereo music. It can connect to a phone, computer, or portable music player that supports Bluetooth™ technology. A key feature is its automatic music pause during a call, with playback resuming once the call ends. The headset supports both Singlepoint and Multipoint technology, allowing connection to one or two Bluetooth™ devices simultaneously. In Multipoint mode, users can receive calls from two connected phones without needing to disconnect and reconnect, though this mode consumes more battery power.

Usage Features

Power Management: The headset is turned on or off by moving the power switch. Before initial use, the battery needs to be charged for approximately 2.5 hours using a charger and the provided Micro USB cable. The notification light indicates the charging status when the headset is off.

Connectivity: Pairing the headset with a phone can be done manually or using Near Field Communication (NFC).

  • Manual Pairing: Ensure the phone's Bluetooth™ function is on, turn on the headset, then press and hold the music/call key until the notification light flashes blue. On the phone, scan for Bluetooth™ devices and select "Stereo Bluetooth™ Headset SBH20." Follow any on-screen pairing instructions, entering "0000" if a passcode is required.
  • NFC Pairing: Ensure the phone's NFC function is on and the screen is active. Turn on the headset, then place the phone over the headset so their NFC detection areas touch. Follow any pairing instructions, entering "0000" if a passcode is required. Once successfully paired, the headset automatically connects to the phone when turned on and within range.

Volume Adjustment: The volume controls allow users to adjust the call or music volume by swiping up or down.

Wearing: The headset features a clip that can be rotated left or right for a comfortable fit. For optimal outdoor performance, it's recommended to carry the phone on the same side of the body as the headset unit.

Notification Light Indicators:

  • Red light: Battery level below 10%.
  • Green light: Battery level above 90%.
  • Flashing orange light: Battery level 10% - 90%.

Maintenance Features

Resetting the Headset: If the headset exhibits unexpected behavior, it can be reset. This process removes all information about paired devices. To reset, turn off the headset, then turn it on again to perform a restart.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides guidance for common issues:

  • Cannot answer a second call: Verify that the phone supports the Bluetooth handsfree profile and that the correct calling device is selected.
  • Music does not play in the headset: Ensure the phone or other device is paired, restart the media player if necessary, and confirm the correct music source is selected.
  • Headset turns off automatically: This indicates a low battery level. The headset will beep approximately 10 minutes before shutting down, signaling that it needs to be charged.
  • Unexpected behavior: A simple restart of the headset is recommended.
  • No connection to the phone: Check that the headset is charged and within the recommended range of 10 meters (33 feet) with no solid objects obstructing the connection. Review Bluetooth settings on the phone, reset if needed, and re-pair the headset.

Multipoint/Singlepoint Mode Switching: To switch between Multipoint and Singlepoint modes:

  1. Ensure the headset is off.
  2. Place headphones in ears.
  3. For Multipoint mode: Press and hold the volume up key while turning on the headset. Two beeps will confirm activation.
  4. For Singlepoint mode: Press and hold the volume down key while turning on the headset. One beep will confirm activation. After switching to Multipoint mode, the headset may need to be restarted to connect to both paired devices.
