TEMP
control
knob
to
0.
Slowly
adjust
R12
counterclockwise
until
the
compressor
turns
on.
then turn
back 1/4 turn
clockwise.
19.
Set
the
POWER
switch
to
OFF. and
unplug
the
power
cord.
20.
Reinstall
the
temperature sensor
into
the
bottom
of
the
rotor
chamber.
21.
Disconnect
the digital
voltmeter.
22. Close
and
secure
the
front
panel.

1.
Set
the
POWER
switch
set
to
OFF.
and
unplug
the
centrifuge
power cord.
2.
Turn
the
speed
meter
adjusting screw (using a
screwdriver)
until
the
pointer reads
0
(see
figure
8-8).
3.
Remove
door
release
knob
by
loosening
the
set
screw.
4.
Remove
the
screw
(located
above
the TIME
control knob)
securing
the
front
panel
to
the
frame.
Gently lower
front
panel.
5.
Plug
in
the
centrifuge
power
cord.
set
the
POWER
switch
to
ON.
and
open
the
lid.
Install
an
H-1000B
Rotor
with
buckets
(or an
A-384
Rotor).
Make
sure
the
H-
1000B
Rotor buckets
swing
freely.
Close
and latch
the
lid.
6.
Adjust
R5
on
the
Motors
Controls
P.C.
Board
to midrange
(approximately
15
turns
from either
end).
7.
Set
the
TIME
control knob
to
HOLD.
8.
Slow
Start—set the
SPEED
control
knob
to
5
and set
the
POWER
switch
to ON.
Adjust
R4
clockwise
so
the
rotor
starts to
spin
within
three (3) to
five
(5)
seconds.
If
the
rotor
starts
spinning
before three
to
five
seconds,
adjust
R4
counterclock¬
wise.
9.
Increase
the
speed using
the
SPEED
control knob until
a
reading
of
3000
rpm
is
achieved
as
verified
by
an
external tachometer
(i.e.,
a
frequency meter,
photo
tachometer, or equivalent).
CAUTION
Carefully connect test
leads
to
test
points
to
prevent
shorts between
pins.
10. Adjust
Rl
for 3.000 ±0.01
Vdc
between
TP-5
(+)
and
TP-1
(-)
using
an
H-
1000B
Rotor.
If
using
an
A-384
Rotor, adjust
Rl
for
6.000
±0.01
Vdc.
11. Adjust
R2
until
speed meter
reads
3000
rpm
as
verified
on an
external
tachometer.
